If the offense is effective (moves the ball, controls the clock, wears down the D), who cares how many pass attempts we have? Obviously we're going through a lot of growing pains this year, but we've moved the ball effectively the last 3 games. I don't care if we throw the ball 3 times, if we move the ball the way we did against UF, UK and UM (minus turnovers ), I'm good.

We haven't won any national championships with this method yet, so I'm not good.

But what if it also leads to 3 losses most years?

Not passing the ball "enough" is the sole reason for losing? You know there are other things that go on in a football game, right?

Our defense didn't cost us the UGA game last year? Our aggressive approach didn't backfire and cost us the game against Ole Miss last year?

3 of those are in the top 5 of LSU all time.

You also have to figure the teams that pass a lot of short passes. Like the Saints, those are basically run plays. We just run with our bruising backs.

Maybe Les shouldn't have benched Jeremy Hill for 3-4 series after fumbling on the first play, which we recovered the fumble.

BC the teams before that were bama and Florida and I know they were run heavy as well.

Your point has already been refuted you dipshit.

Wait... So you mean to tell me that not sticking to the run game cost us that one? I thought our lack of pass attempts is why we haven't been able to seal the deal since 2007 and why we lose 3 games "most years".

It is obvious this staff doesn't empasize improving the passing game. If our offense gets shut down tomorrow the inability to have a respectable passing threat will be one of the reasons.

And for what it's worth, the 2012 loss at the Swamp was 100% on the crappy game plan of run, run, throw a slant pass on 3rd and 8. Don't give me that crap about Mett didn't have a grasp of the passing game. LSU refused to utilize the passing game until we were trailing Bama 14-3 at half in 2012.

And that was 2012. It's a little hard for me to project the problems we had Pre-Cam on this staff.

Didn't we have a 3000 yard passer that year? Must have been a pretty efficient offense.

Me thinks this trend of hating the pass started before Cam got here, and has continued to decrease since he got here. We have had 3 offensive coordinators since 2010. Look at the numbers from 2009-2014, and understand that there is only one constant at the coaching decision making level.

Be careful…..you are all setting the OP up for reasons to shite on Jennings. He had a big thread yesterday where he did this….so beware.

OK so just because you are so far off the mark

2009 bama 85th
2008 UF 96th

So in the past 6 seasons, we have actually had more attempts than the winner in 3 of those seasons.

Gotta ask, were you happy with our offensive output last year?

And why are you ignoring the fact that other things go on in a game that can lead to a loss besides "not throwing enough"?

Sorry you don't understand that a defense will react differently to a play fake with Jeremy Hill in the backfield as opposed to Terrance Magee in the backfield. One is starting in the NFL right now, the other is a backup in college to a true freshman.

Attempts per game is meaningless.

Total QB efficiency/rating and yards per attempt are the measuring sticks.
