LSU's Defense

Anyone that is in the know (goes to practice watches gamefilm etc). Please tell me why is our defense looking so bad? Will we fix it? If so how?
Please don't say that they are not playing really poorly. We have played 3 of the worst offenses in the country the last 3 weeks and given up many big plays. We had one sack against for 5 yards against State. I am not trying to be negative I just want to understand.

you can start to learn by doing a search, there has been many write ups on it over the past few days

2 new starting cb's...1 returning safety..a new starting safety...as of right now no linebackers were starters last year
New co-defensive cords
Only our defensive line consists of vets and leadership and they have held their own.
4 games in..give this team time to gel. Also understand we are the defendin national champs. Players and coaches prepare a lil more, and have a lil more on their shoulders whenever they see us on the schedule.
Give the team time to gel. We are holdin up pretty good. With as till questionable offense..we are beating team..all that matters

This question needs to directed to our co-def coordinators and db coach. I personnally don't like co-anything in football but thats the way it is for now. The cornner backs are playing soft. 2nd string defensive lineman need to play better.

i think its pretty easy to see that that Taylor and Coleman deserve to be the starting safties at this point in the season.
im a big chad jones fan but he seems to look lost at times this year.

We gave up one legit FG to app st and the rest were garbage time points.
N Texas hung three on us.
We allowed Auburn to score twice on offense.
We allowed 24 to Miss St. without best two DT's and our best linebacker.
We really suck balls.

thing are never as bad as they seem nor are they ever as good.
is our defense bad this year? no.
is it one of our best? probably not.

Yes he hasnt been outstanding so far as most people expected him to be this year but I think part of that is how we are using him. He is basically playing as a dime back covering a slot receiver which everyone knows he is naturally a safety. I personally feel he should be starting at one of the safety spots (preferably free) but they are not going to pull taylor or coleman unless they just start playing terrible.

People act like spurrier just hung 50 on us. It's become unacceptable to allow more than two td's. I don't get it.

We allowed more yards and points to Auburn than State and Tenn did and more yards and points to State than Auburn, GA Tech and LA Tech.
Again I just wanted people to tell me it will get better.

The coverage has got to get better for Ga. in the 5/10 or there will be trouble in Tigertown. But, I believe it will be!

I mean I dont think by any means they have been outstanding so far. I love coleman's aggressiveness and I am pretty indifferent to curtis taylor. I just think Chad Jones is the best athlete out of all three and would be that ballhawking safety we need back there because both of them arent.

i wasnt mad that we got a win over Moo st. dont get me wrong. i just thought giving up 24 to what seemed to be going in a very very bad offense.
u would have liked to seen our d make some stops there at the end when we knew Moo St was going to be passing.

first of all we dominated our first two games and our d was fine against auburn @ auburn. we def let up in the state game.

If I remember listening correctly I thought we only had 5 returning starters on defense.
