I saw that drunken interview she gave. She didn't exactly cop to it, but the implication was clearly there.

Misleading headline. Thought it would be a bit more, uh, "graphic". I am disappoint.

Yes he does recruit , kids have it in their heads that number one kids go to number one schools ! So we have to sell LSU as a quality program, this hurts us because of the negatigers negative bombardment !

You let your mommy pick your employer based on her relationship with the bosses wife??? That is very odd.
the fact that you view LSU as his employer and also don't consider the fact that when you start recruiting a 15 and 16 year old kid, their parents play HUGE roles is odd to me

I lost a lot of respect for LF and his dad if he let his mom decide his future based on a relationship with a coaches wife. Very bad decision making process even though I'm happy it worked out for LSU
Good lord some of you losers take this shite too seriously.

You act like she's hideous lol...I'd easily slam Gus' wife. She looks like she'd be fun in the sack.

Ryno lives in the state mental home, we kind of condone his "specialness" around here...

Why is that odd to you? He's always been an idiot troll on this board. He usually doesn't start this til the season, but I guess he's awakened a little early from his hibernation.

I took it as more wilson just telling a funny story from the recruiting trail, I highly doubt it was truly the deciding factor of where he played

this is correct. Nobody makes a big decision like this based largely on coaches' wives. But it does show that schools have to pull out all the stops in the recruiting wars.

It comes down to if Momma is not happy, nobody is happy in most families. She just had to get comfortable that LSU was the best place for her son.

A better way to view this anecdote would be to realize that Leonard and his family-- but primarily Leonard-- put in a ton of time and work evaluating school choices. Leonard easily eliminated 50 to 100 schools, thoroughly evaluated 5-10 more and whittled it down to LSU and Bama. If you were to imagine the prospective benefits of LSU and Bama adding up to exactly 1 ton each sitting on opposite ends of a scale in Leonard's mind, then the Bama wives insinuating themselves as family friends had the potential to be a mere one pound weight that could upset the balance of the much larger scale.

In this way, the wives were by far not the most important factor, but were potentially the deciding factor... like the little bird in a movie who lands on the hood of a car that's teetering on the edge of the cliff and ends up being the reason the car goes over the edge (though the bird was not the main reason the car was in a position to fall).

BTW, good edit to get rid of the respect part.

eta: I guess you haven't taken the lack of respect comment out with your edit; it's still in your first post and I replied to the 2nd.

I don't know that it's possible to overstate the importance of LF 's commitment to LSU.

Has there ever been a recruit that Saban coveted more than Buga? IMO, the answer is no. I can only imagine what he and Dupree turned down to stay home and play for LSU.

I hope LF becomes one of the greatest players in LSU history. Top 3. As a fan who loves LSU, I can never thank him (and his Momma if that's the case) enough.
