LSU head coach Les Miles has now put more players in the NFL draft (60) during his tenure at LSU (2005-present)

So, if we look at the results of the 2013 season the one guy drafted out of Ole Miss trumped the nine NFL worthy draftees from LSU.

Nice to win the recruiting wars and have the most number of players drafted but it doesn't really mean much. Nicer to win on the field.

Agreed, and we do. Can't win a NC every year. In our situation, can't expect to win the SEC W every year. Hell, Oklahoma doesn't even win the BIG 12 every year.

I agree with you 100%. Great to be in the hunt but unrealistic to think we're going to walk away with a title every year.

I'm not a Les basher FWIW

The only point I was making is that having the most draftees is terrific but beating a team with only one player taken in the draft is even better.

I wouldn't call it a "Draft Race." It's more like program vindication.

Yeah, all I know is a shite ton of experienced talent just walked out the door, yay?!

Blame the NFLPA for that. I did not realize it until this year but these rookie contracts with an automatic fifth year option for top rounders actually encourages good players to leave early and escape the fifth year and reach second contract or FA two years earlier... go figure.

3-5 vs 5-3 does not compute in trumping.

Sounds exactly like Ol Mrs/Ark talk.
For some reason all 85 play like draftees on the date of their beloved LSU Bowl, but fact remains they're still 99% scrubs.

I don't know any other school from where career backups get drafted routinely.

Because Les Miles has a reputation for under developing his talent. When this NFL season begins, we should have the most players on rosters and only 2 SEC championships to show for it in 10 years.

So what does underdeveloped, yet talented enough to be drafted anyway, have to say about NFL coaches and their developmental skills with said career backups?
