Harden, our second leading scorer and steals leader, didn't make the trip. The injury to her eye from the UK game is not all the way healed up. Considering we have a week till our next game, I think it was a smart decision to let her heal rather than aggravating the injury.

I've heard that Nikki is going to be hiring another assistant coach in the off season who is a great recruiter. Who that individual is, I have no idea.

So half of the "discussion was about my comment and the other half was about this big game?

750k for a womens basketball coach for a non revenue producing sport and hardly a top 25 program anymore. Wasted money. For that money beating State should never be an upset. What has she really done since being hired? Not a lot.

Im fine paying $750 if we have the program to support it, that is a top 10-15 program every year, we need to win in sec period, team looks better than a few weeks ago for sure...hopefully we get into NCAA's and make a run. otherwise it's IMHO unacceptbale year

Nobody likes the guy who has nothing better to do than be a dickhead for no reason.

Carolyn Peck's name has been floated around a good bit.

That sounds good, but I doubt Peck would leave her high profile broadcasting career to get back in to coaching as an assistant.

Yea, I'm not sure I could see Peck leaving her position in broadcasting to be an assistant...............especially considering she's won an NCAA championship as a head coach herself. But, I would imagine she and Nikki are close so I wouldn't necessarily rule it out. It definitely wouldn't be a financial move if she did it.

Where did you hear about Nikki hiring a top notch assistant who can recruit at?

I would hope it would be a given that Caldwell would realize that she needs a top-notch recruiter, especially one who knows this relative area. She is already one assistant short…hopefully she chooses someone who can come in and do work and isn't necessarily a token hire.

Everyone knows that's her issue, she just can't seem to bring in top classes. Does anyone know of any names floating around. I mean I know its only January but I would think they would be looking right now as well. Its vital that we make a homerun hire here.

You know, we have had some incredibly great players with incredible personalities pass through our program....not just Pokey. You would think that somehow or someway we could capitalize on that with our coaching/recruiting. I wasn't exactly thrilled while watching the LSU/TENN game that the announcers brought up that pretty much our entire staff is former UT products. I know that is a good pedigree, but I think we have a pretty dang good pedigree here.

Can't think of any in coaching. There's some really recent grads in GA positions but that's about it.

Living in the shadow of another program? Nah. Not going to get over it. Sorry.

I wonder if UCONN and South Carolina have gotten over "being in the shadow" of Virginia's program.

I would then say that the Virgina pedigree is what we need at LSU and not UT.

And to be clear, I am not attacking Caldwell. My point was that maybe we can utilize some of our great former players to bring in recruits.....which is Caldwell's glaring weakness. I like Coach C but she needs help.
