It is ashamed that LSU doesn't play Tulane this year, Tulane ranked 25th and LSU 26th. It was an incredible rivalry that ended due to political BS. I bleed Purple and Gold but not having this game every year is nuts.

There is not enough room on the schedule to play a yearly game with a school like Tulane

frick Tulane. They were a founding member of the SEC and left because they got all up in their feels about LSU. I hope they’re regretting every cent of it

But they are also a nonissue in major college football now and I don’t hate them as much as I once did. They’re at the kids’ table. Just pat them on the head and smile

You DO know that there are universities that don't have football as their highest priority, right? Different universities excel at different things.

You’re not speaking for Tulane. I doubt that if they wanted the rivalry game they wouldn’t get it. I don’t believe they do. It’s not like it would be a sell out to play an out of conference in state every year. Once in a while…..maybe.

No one gives a shite about playing Tulane besides super old fans. They have a good season once every 25 years. That does not mean LSU should save a spot on the schedule for them.

I’d rather play big OOC games like UCLA FSU Wisconsin Texas etc.

It ended because Tulane insisted it remain home and home, causing LSU to lose a home game when at Tulane and losing all that revenue. Made perfect sense and still does. LSU would never play at another American conference school. LSU was willing to play every year in BR. This series ended not because of LSU but because Tulane let it’s pride get in the way. As someone that kinda pulls for them or would like them to do well, I believe this was a huge mistake on their part. They had everything to gain and nothing to lose by going to BR every year. Florida State did it for a long time while building their program back in the 80’s.

No, it wasn't. 70-22-6 in LSU's favor. LSU won the last 18. Tulane has won just 4 since 1949 (last 50 games) LSU leads 44-4-2 in the last 50 games.

It's a nostalgic rivalry but not an incredible one.

It ended because of money. LSU wanted to play in Tiger Stadium every year because they felt they were giving up home game revenue every other year, and Tulane didn't want to give up their most lucrative home game every other year. They agreed to end the series. That simple.

It ended because they couldn’t agree on a contract ….. Tulane wanted a home and away series and LSU didn’t….Tulane was only drawing 12 thousand to a home game….LSU said get lost….
The younger generation has no interest in the rivalry at all….let it go
Wonder what idiot decided to leave the SEC and go independent…it’s not like your Notre Dame….

Maybe pre 1960 it was. The best LSU-Tulane game I ever saw was that game in 2007, which was really just a good first quarter or first half. Other than that, nothing but blowouts.
