Until Johnny starts coaching defense, it doesn't matter how much talent LSU has, they won't last long in the NCAA tourney even with the stud freshmen on the team.
I know they are not scouting these Australia teams but it was a problem last year. You have to get stops.

This is what I don't get. We're undersized but the hustle at the boards isn't there either. Hopefully this is just a product of exhibition games.

Here come all the negatigers.
A) It's a HIGHLIGHT VIDEO. That means the best plays. It's not gonna show any solid defensive plays where the opponent was stopped unless it was a monster block. The overreaction is just amazing.
B) Yes, we need Victor, Yes Darcy and Elbert still suck, but lets calm the Hell down. As South said, rebounds were even and they got 15 more FT's than us.
C) We are a young team that had 10 practices before Australia. I don't know how many times I can say this, but we are playing against PROFESSIONALS. That means all they do is play basketball. There's no rule about how many hours they can practice, or the contact the coach can have, or going to school and playing. Those dudes play basketball most likely year round. The Sydney Kings are one of the best teams in Australia. Yes, they were without a few key players, but they're still a good team.
D) We are not Virginia, we are not Michigan State...we are an uptempo team. We will score more points than the normal team, we will give up more points than the normal team...ACCEPT IT. If Victor comes in and just gives us 5 and 5, we can be like Duke last year. I'm not saying win it all, but they outscored people. Okafor was TERRIBLE in low post defense last year, they weren't great defensively. We have players on the perimeter that can defend very well, and in the tourney its all about guard play

The Sydney Kings are one of the best teams in Australia. Yes, they were without a few key players, but they're still a good team.

If Victor comes in and just gives us 5 and 5, we can be like Duke last year. I'm not saying win it all, but they outscored people. I don't have any frame of reference for these players, but knowing that they are playing basketball for money and we are a team with freshman playing big time minutes, I just don't understand all the criticism

Precisely, of course we have improvements to make. We are young and school hasn't even started. The season is nearly 3 months away. Relax

I'd be disapointed if we went out and crushed all 5 games... I want our guys to be challenged, see what they need to work on, and continue to improve this fall and be ready to play come late Novmeber.
Coach put it very well before the first exhibition game. He said this isn't about winning exhibition games, this is about getting better for November. that's exactly what we are trying to do. Likely playing some guys in different places and different minute allocations to prep them while we can.
Not to mention the Kings game was the day after another game. We likely got tired. Just think about how tired we have looked second game of an SEC tournament when you play back to back games.
Nothing wrong with the Kings loss and I'm glad we bounced back to win yesterday.

I'm sure we'll be fine either way. I just think Sampson is a notch better than Hornsby watching these highlights from the trip so far

Do not fall for highlights that hard. Hornsby is a clutch shooting, team leader. There will be opportunities for all the guards but I expect Hornsby to start every game this year.

Elbert got a DNP last night. Not trying to be mean, but maybe he isn't D1 material. I mean if he can't even give you 5 minutes off the bench.

Someone said he's hurt, which is probably why he didnt play.
I cant imagine not playing someone in an exhibition game without great reason.
