I have to admit, when the highlights dropped the other day, I bought my season tickets. They just keep getting better. This team is going to be so fun to watch.

That looked way too easy for them. Anxious to see how they will look against some quality talent.. I'm thinking big picture here, I want them cutting down nets.

I get the feeling these Aussie teams are better than most of our conference opponents.

He sure did. Our guard are going to abuse teams this year.

That Simmons move

Was that a quick shot converted off an inbound play at 1:08? Like a frickin Unicorn.

I'm going to be disappointed if he isn't the 5th starter come November. He fits perfectly with what LSU wants to do. He can run the court, has A+ athleticism, and has a big enough body to keep from being man handled in the post.

Plus his mid-range stroke is so pretty. I could watch that 15 foot jump shot all day.

I'd also like to point out, I wish NCAA games were officiated like that. Simmons comes across on a huge block, I would speculate that in 90% of conference games that play is called a foul even though it isn't. When things look bad, college officials always panic whistle.

They are definitely are going to need improvement in defending the low-post.

I agree with everything except possibly the last part. He's still really thin so if he gets matched up with a big center or big PF he could really have a lot of problems. Other than hat, I'd certainly like him over Malone starting until Victor comes around.

I'm watching these highlights, and I think we can run the floor like those fast paced teams from the past, like Loyola Marymount and UNLV, and just bury teams.

While he's thin I think his 6'10" frame will allow him to play some post defense. I don't see a ton of big, big guys in the SEC this coming year so I think his athleticism allows him to play some post defense. At least as well as Mickey.

The only problem is when he was in last year he was targeted on defense and broken down repeatedly. I'm not sure why, but the guy really struggled in our zones. Any idea why that was?

He really was bad in that zone last year. All I can think of would be a struggling basketball IQ. Hopefully a year of maturity will help him there. A zone defense is all about positioning and he couldn't understand where to position himself to prevent opponents from scoring.

When I said he could handle post guys I was really meaning it in a way of comparing him to Robinson and Elbert. While they are bigger than he is, I think he can still handle himself and fits better with the style of play LSU plans on running.

Anybody think that eventually we see more press/trap out of this team? Situationally, of course. The athleticism on the perimeter would really give a lot of teams trouble. Also, I think it would be a good counter when/if teams try to go big and pound us inside.
