The metrics have been laid out ad nauseam.....LSU gets the nod and it’s not really that close.

The question is "Which team had the better season?" not "Which was the better team?"

In that case, this isn't even a debate. LSU a hunnert percent

LSU vs. Nebraska

I still don't get it.

Let's face it, there wasn't a defense in the country that had a clue of how to stop LSU's passing offense this past year, and we are to believe that a defense from a quarter of a century ago would have the answers for that passing juggernaut.

Yes that Nebraska team probably would have put up rushing yards against LSU, but the Tigers, with its POTENTIAL four first rounders off it's defense would have needed two stops MAX, and it would be GAME OVER.

No discussion needed. The real question is who should be #2. I would take that 01 Miami team. They had something like 20 players drafted after that year.

That’s a really good bracket and finish.

LSU would drop 100 on Nebraska defense. Corners and safeties to slow and not athletic enough to stop us.

People need to stop this. 70% of those players didn’t even play in 2001 or they played sparingly. Stop looking at nfl stats when looking at 2001 Miami.
Were they one of the best of all time. Yes
But people just take a narrative and keep it going. Most of those star players were true freshman and didn’t even put up stats

They would not drop 100 on That Nebraska team if they were both at their peaks. It's a different era.
