LF will have similar or better YPC, but he'll have fewer carries because of a stacked backfield. Teams will also key on him until we prove we can throw the ball reliably.
But with equal carries, my money is on Buga.

To the second point, if teams DO key on LF and we have marginally better QB play, I like us over UGA.

Ask me again in week 4.

Eta, why are we giving Pollack any more clicks? He's a douchebag misogynist who doesn't know shite outside of UGA football.

LF had no passing game to take the pressure off the box.

To be fair, neither did UGA. Hutson Mason wasn't exactly good last year. Granted, it was better than the Cam and AJ show, but there weren't very many passing games that were worse.

I must be out of the loop here. Elaborate?

It only took 11 games for them to realize that if you get the defense spread out a bit (with motion, jet sweeps, etc.) the running lanes for your all world RB might open up a bit more

Correct. I'll never understand why we essentially telegraph our intentions to the defense. Third and short and we line up in a 2 tight formation and the D has 10 men in the box and we (wait for it) run off tackle.

Hell, run off tackle all you want, but keep the defense guessing. As you say, spread out the D, keep them honest by making them think you could do something else. They'll be forced to not stack the box and opens up more running lanes. Simple stuff, really.

He has gotten in trouble for making sexist comments in the past. Most recently for saying that he didn't think women should be on the playoff selection committee.

Some of his Twitter posts could be construed as sexist as well. He's just an all around grimy dude.

Hutson Mason completed 68% of his passes for 167 yards per game. 21 TDs, 4 INTs. QB Rating of 155.7.

UGA was a credible threat to throw the ball last year.

Team wise if you take away 2003 and 2007 they are pretty much equal.

Yeah, just take away those 2 national championship seasons for LSU, pretty much equal!

Sorry, I'm not a politically correct guy, and I just don't see the "sexism" if he thinks a woman, who never played football and has no background whatsoever in football, should be on the selection committee. And by the way, I really respect Condi Rice. But I'm not naive, so of course I know why she was selected.

I live in Atlanta, and Pollack is generally regarded as a good guy. So I'm not buying these sexist allegations. Just some people with thin skins, I guess.

Lol. So people respect her enough that her name is being tossed around to replace Goodell as NFL commish, but she doesn't have the chops to be on a college football playoff committee? Come on, guy.

She was the freaking Secretary of State who loves football and has said for years that she'd love to be NFL Commissioner.

So I'd argue that her very high profile and credibility that comes with being a former SoS has as much to do with any Commissioner talk as her football acumen (which I don't know she has, other than being a fan).

Still doesn't convince me she's one of the right people for the committee. And again, I respect the hell out of her.

Maybe. But I'd argue that any famous football fan wouldn't have the same consideration.

Like I said, her football chops and political acumen is respected enough by enough people that she is considered a strong candidate for NFL commissioner, but Pollack doesn't think she has the chops to be on the playoff committee based solely on the fact that she has lady parts.

You know who has also never played a down of higher-level football? Guys like Skip Bayless, Colin Cowherd and Mike Greenberg. But, until very recently, they and others like them had a huge say in who played in the national championship. No one questioned their football acumen because they didn't play.

Hard to argue with him. Chubb has had more success so far, and I think UGA wins the SEC this year. They are stacked at RB, O line and LB.
