In article they talk about lsu @ Arkansas win & they go to a bcs bowl or better. What are they talking about better?

Well, there might be a slim chance of a MNC-type bowl, as unlikely as it may be.

It's also not correct as LSU could finish 11-1 and not go to a BCS game if South Carolina beats an undefeated Auburn in the title game.

This is what I'm afraid of and it would TOTALLY suck. 11-1 and left out ... Cap One won't want us and frankly I don't want them ... Cotton wouldn't want us as we're playing the opener there next year ... who does that leave wanting us???

UGH.

we aren't going to the NCG. Things wont line up....they just wont. Pull for Auburn all the way.

Does the top 4 bcs get automatic bids, regardless?

not if uscE upsets auburn , they would then go to sugar, they prob drop Auburn right in front of us and Aubby gets 2nd bid

Not necessarily ... if SC wins the SEC they go to Sugar ... a 1 loss AU could get picked over a 1 loss for the BCS and only 2 teams from a conference can go to BCS bowls.

Nope. If AU beats bama and loses to USCe and we win out, we don't go to the bcs even if were ranked number 3

The BCS, ESPN & CBS all hate LSU.

eta: It's against my will but I have to pull for AU. UGH.

The orange could pick us, but would likely pick auburn since the head to head and same record

I agree that if AU beats Alabama and loses to Carolina we will not go, but in the small chance that we are #3 in that scenario we would definitely go. Auburn would be screwed.

That's incorrect. If we are number 3, that puts AU behind us (unless you think they will lose to SC and stil play in the BCSCG). If they are behind us, we get the at large bid.

I would rather Auburn win and and play in the championship game than lose to south carolina if we wouldnt get into the natinal championship game. Just to say the SEC won the past 5 years.

Ya. If that's the only way someone has to pick us over AU in that scenario

They wouldn't have to pick us over them if we're #3 we would automatically go.

quote:

5. If any of the 10 slots remain open after application of provisions 1 through 4, and an at-large team from a conference with an annual automatic berth for its champion is ranked No. 3 in the final BCS Standings, that team will become an automatic qualifier, provided that no at-large team from the same conference qualifies for the national championship game.
