Mark Jones & Rod Gilmore were scheduled to call it before it got moved from Columbia.

I'm guessing they'll probably still be doing the game.

I really like Jones' play by play, Gilmore I'm a little on the fence on but both are pretty good

ESPN bumped several games from their scheduled network to make the move, including Minnesota at Purdue, which was scheduled for that time and channel. It has been moved to ESPNU. At least two other changes included UConn-Central Florida moving from ESPNU to ESPNews and Tulane-Temple, an 11 a.m. kick, moving from ESPNews to ESPNU. Six games were moved according to this.

I sure hope this is correct. I went to set my DVR to record it and ESPN on Directv is showing LSU vs USCe at 11am. Ack!

wait, this actually happened?

I thought the announcers worked for the network. So would CBS lend their 2 guys to ESPN this one time or am I totally wrong on how this works lol?

LSU game is on ESPN, just like it was originally scheduled. Same ESPN announcers that would've announced the game at 11 in Columbia will be announcing the game at 2:30 in Baton Rouge.

I really don't know why CBS discussion is even in this thread. They selected Georgia/Tennessee to broadcast this week & that has zero impact to LSU's broadcast Saturday.

And half of the commercials are going to be pushing some fantasy football service.

LSU-South Carolina game on ESPN

Which equals the ability to stream via the WatchESPN app through a Fire stick, Roku, computer, etc. That is always a good thing for people that have to work when the game is being played.

You know, you can't expect people to really be productive anyway when college football is being played on Saturday

CBS needed to be compensated to allow ESPN to show a more appealing SEC game in the same timeslot.

If ESPN did in fact move 6 other games to get the LSU/Cocks game on at this time slot, it will be embarrassing as hell if only 40-50K fans show up. Which would not surprise me from what I am hearing.

According to Alleva yesterday, I think on Moscona's show, he said that the switching of the game time and airing on ESPN family was heavily negotiated with CBS, and ESPN had to make concessions before they could move the game to LSU and switch the time. They had to get permission from CBS to do it.

When questioned as to details of "concession", he said he did not know and could not comment, as he was not part of the negotiations between ESPN and CBS.

I assume there was a lot of cash, and possibly some future time slot concessions.

Unless Alleva is lying, which I guess is possible, CBS had to consent to moving the LSU game to the 2:30 time. And consent was negotiated with CBS.
