Yeah, I was about to say Michigan on the schedule changes things up a lot. We play Ohio State who is nothing compared to UM.

Arizona and UCLA I recall had a bunch of seniors. We should be fine in those games too.

Not that I think the schedule is weak, just pointing out that it's obviously easier than last season, OOC at least

Zona lost big contributors but they might have a pitcher this year. Whether they've figured out how to hit away from Arizona is their question.
UCLA lost a ton and it'll be interesting if the once future of LSU softball Paige McDuffee is healthy enough to contribute and ever does anything there.

Any new commits? Knowing Beth she already has the top 7th grader in the country on board

Unless a kid decommits, or transfers in the next class is set. You don't see a lot of flips in softball unless a coach gets fired.

I think Bourg gets the OF spot based on last year & fall ball.

I think a freshman will play 2B, all 3 can so the question is who? The 3 infield freshman are simply better than the upper class at playing that position. I actually think all 3 are better defensively than all the upper class in the infield, but 2 of the returning infielders are 2x AA who hit 15+ HR's. They won't be unseated so easily, if at all.

I figured that, but had to mess with you because you had me scan the schedule many times to make sure I wasn't going loco. Lol

Just trying to keep ya on your game

I seriously would love to have a drink with some of yall and go catch games this season. Since we will probably jump to a 10-0 lead after the first inning we will probably leave early from a run rule

No matter what Bianka Bell and Jaquish will be in the line up. IDK if Beth would move Bianka to 2B which I think would be a better fit for her. She has played SS every year here, not sure if Beth will all of a sudden change that. Amber Serrett and Shemiah Sanchez have looked amazing this fall. I predict either Sanchez or Serrett win a spot at 2B. Either way we are upgrading in the infield an at the plate. Both can definitely hit the ball.

"Amber Serrett and Shemiah Sanchez have looked amazing this fall."

That's a big statement. I've been to every fall game this year, I didn't see 1 freshman look amazing IMO. Smith has pitched extremely well. Good enough to earn the 3 spot I think if her improvement continues.

I do not see Bell moving, unless he has a terrible season fielding. That's the only way. Jaquish will play 3B & C. I could see both taking a few games as DP throughout to give the freshman some reps as they will be heavily relied upon next season.

That said, they have a really good team. A title run is absolutely in the cards this year.

I haven't been able to go to the fall games but I have access to see practices most the times. Serrett is very good defensively. She has some pop in her bat. More of a player that will hit the ball into the gap. Sanchez is fine defensively. She does have a lot of power. Both have struggled at times hitting consistently but I mean they will get much better with experience.

Beth really doesn't have a problem. She is returning eight starters and five all americans. The freshman are good but don't see her changing much. IMO really only using them to push the returners. I've been to half the games and some practices. Sanchez may win the second base job, good all around player. An outfield spot is up for grabs but see that probably going to Bourg. Satchell is also a solid player but practicing at thrid don't see her unseating the returners. The pitching staff is good but Hoover has changed her delivery, Walljasper had arm surgery and Smith while good is an untested Freshman. Corbello has been throwing better. Her real problem is what to do with Serrett. IMO best defensive player on the team but can't hit like Bianca so where does she put her? I've only seen her working at SS. You will probably have to live for another year with Bianka's errors to get her offensive production. At least Beth now has options at almost every position if things are not going well. Good problem to have and they will be fun to watch. Should make another strong run to the WCWS.

Why would Hoover change her motion at this point in her career? Also hope pitching is ready to go by the start of the season. This is probably the best team we've ever had on paper
