Saw that first thing this morning.

AMAZING stats - don't care if she IS playing in Conn.

Anyone who can throw that many pitches without WALKING a bunch is amazing.

And to think we thought Ott had a good K to walk ratio!

these pitchers are a dime a dozen in HS softball. Hofer was the same way.

Dominant pitchers of that caliber are more common in softball than baseball, but very few put up those numbers. In softball, one pitcher like that can almost carry you all season. They pitch much more than you can a baseball pitcher.

right but just because her numbers are that gaudy doesnt mean it will translate. Hofer is evidence.

True. I read in one of those articles that she pitched an inning against the USA team and gave up 5 runs, I think.

A 17 year old gave up five runs to the best softball team in the world...by a mile. What do you think Ranuado or Coleman would have done against the Red Sox after their junior year of high school?

Yep. Cat Osterman at Texas was proof of that. She carried us all the way to the championship game practically by herself. Sadly, we couldn't muster the runs to back her up.
