Vandy is always a tough win on the road.

I agree we should beat Vandy but we always seem to struggle at their place.

It's a strange venue to play in.

(I guess they still have that court where the players' seats are on the ends of the court rather than on the side? )

Vandy has lost 4 in a row and is spiraling out of control

If you watched the UK-Vandy game you would know this may not be a cakewalk. Especially at the hardest away gym to win at in the SEC

MS State is their only bad SEC loss. They lost to UGA who LSU needed a miracle comeback to beat and Arky who has been ranked.

SHOULD

Key word. That doesn't mean they will. Although our next 3 opponents only have 4 wins, Mizzou is sitting at 1-4 in league play with their lone victory coming against LSU. So you can't chalk any game up as a victory.

Vandy played UK well...we must stop the three. They have some talented young players, we'll probably have a fight on our hands. We need to go in with that mentality. I'll be there, can't wait.

It definitely goes to Vandy. Stallings has 3 seasons of going completely undefeated at home. As in not losing a single game on their home court.

Plus the raised floor, sight lines, baseline benches etc

i know it is a raised court. i thought the benches were in the usual spot but set back and below the court.

this is TV only recollection.... never been there, so i may be wrong

It may have changed. I just googled "Vandy basketball court photo" and this is the clearest picture of a game in progress that I found. However it may be an old photo from a previous season.

I expect 2-1 in the next 3. To expect 3-0 may be a bit much for this team.

Not exactly true. 3 of those 4 losses have been to three of the better teams in the SEC (@Ark., UGA, @UK). They were in all 3 games. The loss to MSU is the only "bad" one of the bunch.

Stallings is a good coach. He does as good a job of doing "more with less" than anyone in the league. Also, Jones (BR native) is every bit as effective as Mickey and Martin. Plus, that gym is a funky place to play: Benches on the baselines; huge out of bounds area on the sidelines that can sometimes disorient you; odd sight-lines; a raised court that sits about 3 feet above ground level; just a unique building.

LSU is the better team on paper, but that hasn't meant a whole lot for this team. Get this win at Vandy and the schedule sets up in LSU's favor (only 1 road game in the next 5 and it's at MSU). It would be great to see LSU build some heavy momentum and excitement going into the UK game. I hope, but can't expect this team to do so.

And the court is elevated.
