But UF should have went to BR this week for their 3rd road game in a row and lose their home game?

Home game has already been lost, they will be paid by their insurance company for any loss. LSU would straight lose money by cancelling their home game, one would have to imagine the LSU insurance policy wouldn't pay out for cancellation at convenience, and LSU would still be on the hook the $500-$800K to South Alabama that LSU would owe.

So...yes, if the 19th is the only time that UF and the SEC is willing to give as the makeup, it should be a home game for LSU or at the bare MINIMUM, the SEC should re-reimburse LSU the loss of canceling the home game including loss revenue.

ETA: I'm sorry, thanks to redfishfan, I was corrected. LSU would lose $1.5MM in owed money to South Alabama, plus the $4-5MM+ in lost revenue.

Why is Florida trying to call all the shots?

This is only to give Bama some insurance. If we beat them, they still go to Atlanta with one loss.

From many people's point of view UF successfully manipulated the situation to create an advantage for themselves.

They have taken on the risk of "backburn"

It appears that, at least for now, LSU won't be part of that (by playing them Nov 19th and beating them) and chose to do what's best for ourselves (by keeping our home game and not having 3 road SEC games in 12 days).

Unless something changes where LSU can help themselves, such as needing that game for a SECW title, then be selfish and continue on the present course. There's nothing wrong with that.

I completely understand UF not wanting to play this game at LSU. That said, the hurricane did not just "sneak up" on every one. The possibility that this game may not be able to be played in Fla. was known last Sunday, and the chances of the game needing to be moved have grown everyday since. Contingency plans, even if ultimately not used, should have been in the works DAYS ago. While not ideal, a neutral site could have been found. At worst, play the game in Legion Field.

In 2010, the roof of the Metrodome collapsed THE MORNING OF a game. The NFL was able to move the game to the next game, in Detroit, on short notice. In 2008 a tornado hit the Georgia Dome during the SEC basketball tournament. The SEC was able to move the entire tournament to Ga. Tech the next day.

There absolutely were options available other than only playing the game in Gainesville or BR. Florida refused to play anywhere but Gainesville, and the SEC refused to step in and force the issue. Even if the game had to be played in front of 25,000 people in Birmingham, Mobile, or Jackson fricking Mississippi, there were other alternatives to just canceling the game.

This scenario is not unprecedented. LSU had to sacrifice a home game in 2005 because of weather. South Carolina did it last year. Plain and simple, Greg Sankey dropped the ball and deserves every bit of criticism that comes his way.

My gut feeling is this postponement/ cancellation will not effect either teams championship hopes. LSU can win the West at 6-1 if Auburn loses one more game and they will. TAM and Bama winner would have to lose one game not counting LSU. I say LSU should stick to their position and if UF is screwed so be it.

so play the game on 11/19 and keep LSU's Atlanta dreams alive or not play it all and the season's over and you think that's good? Some of you really aren't using logic. No better than the prideful ADs.

You and machine would make horrible business men. Aleva should be pushing the moving of the cocktail party and playing UF during our bye week nationally. No one loses a game and all is well. Why should LSU bend over backwards and put our team at a disadvantage when everybody knows UF drug their feet on purpose to get us in this situation. Remember prospective coaches are watching this, you want them to think the AD doesn't have the coach and the teams best interest at heart. You fricks are a bunch of dumbasses.

Fla. may well not be screwed if this game is not played as it appears it won't. Should UT lose this wkend & then lose to bama & Fla. wins out, they win the East by winning percentages.

Spot on. If LSU wants/needs that 11/19 game "bad" enough, they'll cross that bridge when they get to it (which, if all goes well, will be about 11:30 pm on 11/5).

Of course we'd have to give up our home game, because Florida didn't want to give theirs up

Seems fair
