Do future prospects choose LSU because of Miles or because of the reputation that proceeds LSU?

A lot because we are LSU, and a lot because of Miles.

Both. Obviously it started way before Miles, but he has built on it, no doubt. For some reason the kids like him though, too.

Have you every played NCAA Football, Dynasty mode? There are lots of reasons

1. It's where the best players go to play.
2. SEC is best conference in the country. NFL prep.
3. 100,000 fans at every game. rich tradition
4. Bowl games, perks. Players get Ipads, Xbox, PS3
5. Coaching, coaching strategy.

Why else would a guy like Russel Shephard come to LSU? He could have gone to a dozen other programs and been "THE GUY". He didn't care that Gary Crapton was the OC or that Les Miles wanted him to run end-arounds and WR screens.

Good responses so far. Personally, I believe that the recruits choose LSU because of the reputation over the coaching. Although, I do believe it is a "package deal".

Say what you want Miles is a hell of a recruiter. LSU does not recruit on its own merrit alone. Just ask Hallman.

Despite what many believe, LSU is an elite school, with that cones the recruits.

The players do seem to love miles too and that helps. So yeah both.

Running out the tunnel into Death Valley on a Saturday night would be a selling point for me.

It's obviously a mixture of both. That being said, coaches have a huge impact on the reputation of the program. I'd say it's aleast 60-40 coaches' reputation and ability to sell everything associated with coming to LSU.

Maybe I am just an "anti-miles" Tiger Fan, that doesn't believe all the smoke & mirror antics that are being displayed. But he could definitely disprove me with another N.C.

I would have never guessed

What some dont realize is parents of recruits love Coach Miles too.
He is sincere and straight forward.
Honesty goes a long way with some people.

For all of you who think Miles has little if anything to do with LSUs recruiting success:

If LSU recruits itslef with no help from Miles, please explain why Arnsparger, Archer, and Hallman had so much trouble getting top flight players to LSU?

While LSUs reputation is certainly a factor, its foolish to discount Miles' contribution just because you don't like him
