if we go out there and we call a pass play and they're sending field pressure, they're sending a blitz that the average fan wouldn't know that they're sending, we check to a run play away from that blitz

There must have been a hell of a lot of checks going on in the second half. Some of those "checks" should've been seeing if our stud WRs can beat the 1 on 1 covered they were showing the entire second half.

I'd like to know that the possibility also exists for him to check out of a run and go play action pass if he sees a stacked box
Ott & Hannny pretty much called the kid a liar during sports today. They think Miles is taking heat & he was covering for him. They doubt he has ANY check out authority and would have checked out of running plays if he did instead of running into 9 man fronts all night

the play calling wasn't aggressive. 6 passes in the entire 2nd half is not aggressive.

easy way to know if man or zone blitz: put a wr/te in motion
and here it is rantards. Armchair qb'ing /coaching at its finest.

I'm sure defensive coordinators on the d1 level get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for schemes that the "average" fan can quickly break down and counter.

Take it from a former college linebacker bro, depending on the play call and offense formation. your motion wouldn't show shite. In fact, it might show the OPPOSITE. That's why it's called disguising coverage/hiding your blitz. We might be in man and let the motion guy go and simply have the safety switch assignments. We have zones where we would follow the guy across the field if the slot receiver in a 2v2 formation went to a 3x1 formation.

Let me educate the rant about college playbooks, especially defensive ones. Each play, say a blitz, has a variation for each offensive line up. In an open formation (2x2), the line up as well as the blitzers are going to be different than in a 3x1(trey) formation. Hell, the blitz assignments change depending on what side the running back is on. All that is coordinated on the field by the MLB and safety. Hence why the MLB position is so important to a defense. The only thing that remains the same in the blitz is where the pressure is coming from and line stunts if one is called.

The X's and O's in college football go well beyond anything you could imagine. Trust me.

While this may be true, the problem for me is if these checks to runs continue to happen, teams will figure out that LSU won't check to a pass. You have to eventually show the ability (or threat) to pass in these situations, even if it's just a quick slant or screen. That's the only way to back the pressure off. Otherwise teams will pin their ears back and play the run.

how'd that work for one of the 3 best defensive lines we'll see all season? ole miss and bama are better, but miss st is in the next tier

In the 4th quarter LF averaged 6.3 on 8 carries with a long of only 17. If you want to say MSU wast stopping him, you may want to try a different argument.
