The fact is that all this season did was avoid proving LSU’s hiring of Ed O as a complete failure in year 1. In other words, all that has happened is Ed O prevented himself from being fired which is reasonable.
The fact is, however, he did this versus a historically bad SEC and that is not a joke.
To have 5 out of 6 SEC teams that you face have their epically worst seasons in the past half decade is too crazy to believe but true.
Orgeron will be judged by the next year or two. Nothing he did his year should relieve any doubts about his abilities to be a great coach. He’s proven little to nothing in that regard, but he has proven he will not be as epic of a failure at LSU as he was at Ole Miss.

Yea but LSU also played only 3 home games.
SEC wasn’t good this year, mostly because more bad teams than usual. Still no one managed to go undefeated. Many teams against a better overall league have so it can be used both ways.

And the real question is did we get the improvement we were looking for by making the coaching change? Not so far.
Well, I for one enjoyed watching the team play more this year than in the last few Miles years. So from my own selfish point of view, I got the improvement I was looking for. So far anyway.

Incredible information! Go call the press! You're on to something, I think.

We even made their coaches quit?

Nah losing to Troy already did that.

We also played two of the current top 5. We beat one and didn't do too bad against the other.

Great. So next year we can denigrate all of our wins by saying we beat first year coaches.
