I thought at least two of those false starts were bogus. I didn't think we were even up to the line and set yet.

The same. I was like damn can they set before you toss a flag?

The hold on Boone was complete BS. Obviously it will go in the book but as a coach I don't think you could count it. I would tell Boone to block the exact same way next week.

exactly.....that is what LM fails to do every game....break the will of the opponent and then substitute. Not kicking that FG kept that game much more in question than it every should have been and kept our players on the field much longer than they should have been...thus Freak's injury and possibly others. LM does something stupid every single game, it seems. Simply amazing with his consistency on game days.

I mean, I agree with you, but you just said we need to not have penalties or turn the ball over so much. So I imagine everyone agrees with you on this one.

In the words of my Bama folks, the only team that can beat LSU is LSU.

I was being sarcastic, but you actually attribute Freaks injury to the FG.....

21 penalties is pretty ridiculous for 2 games

THAT was bad
That was the right call. It's a "touch" rule not a possession rule. The kicker did touch the ball just before the 10 yard mark and carried it through possession over the line.

Hind sight is 20/20. Your dislike of Miles is evident.

Situation: 4 down deep on Auburn's side of the field. Can either kick a field goal or fake.

Get the field goal and you score 3. Ok. Safe play.

Missed the field goal (wet field). Crap. Momentum shift. However, you still have Auburn deep. Still ok.

Fake field goal and it works. Get the first down on the 4. Get a TD in a few downs. Game is effectively over.

Fake a field goal and it fails. You have pinned Auburn deep in their own territory. You rely upon your defense, which is usually pretty good.

The odds of Auburn going 95 yards for the TD was pretty small. Yet, the odds worked for Auburn this time. If you "redo" that situation again and again, Auburn would not score 9 out of 10 times. It is football and sometimes the odds don't pan out.

Yes it is, and it will cost us a game this year if it doesn't get cleaned up.

And my biggest concern with this team has has been the inability to create turnovers on top of giving it up too much. We took it away 3 times, which is a big improvement, but we cannot give it back.

"exactly.....that is what LM fails to do every game....break the will of the opponent and then substitute."

Which is a one big reason for poor QB play under Miles. When we had the chance to get young QBs game time, it never happened. Mett could have been on the bench the entire 4th quarter last night if we had put the hurt on Auburn.

The man does one thing - win and that is what matters the most.

I don't know why anyone is surprised with the penalties. It's been that way since Miles arrived.

BTW, LSU was 117 in # of penalties/game in 2007.

I would have loved for LSU to go up 38-7 and put in jennings

that was what I was kind of expecting...
