As it should be! Don't bet against the GOAT!

LSU was the favorite over 2 seed Utah also.

Proving these seeds are BS. At worst LSU should have been a 2 seed.

They got it wrong and the committee members are looking away after each LSU victory.

The difference between a 2 and 3 seed is almost nothing. They weren't going to put LSU on the same side of the bracket as SC, which is all we needed.

And it isn't like we blew Utah's doors off. They might have won if it wasn't for them blowing 2 critical free throws.

We also blew a 9pt lead with like 2mins left. So they were lucky to be in position to win the game regardless.

Seeds and betting lines are two different discussions. The seeding takes into account metrics like strength of schedule, Q1 wins and wins over other tournament teams. LSU played a very weak non-conference schedule and didn't have as many Q1 wins as other teams such as Indiana, Iowa, Virginia Tech, etc. They were "penalized" for it.

Oddsmakers, on the other hand, don't care about the seeding. They look at statistical metrics, predictive metrics, and their own statistical power ratings. In those, LSU is second in the country only to South Carolina, and has been throughout the tournament. That's why LSU is a favorite despite Virginia Tech being a No.1 seed

Agreed. But their path seems to have been the most favorable to the FINAL 4. So it worked out.

This surprises me after watching Va Tech shoot the lights out last night.

I know Mulkey explained multiple times our seed is what it is due to schedule but how funny is it a 3 seed is favored over a 1 seed

They were 8 for 26 from 3, less than 31%

This game will ride on the shoulders of Morris, Poa and Carson IMO. VaTech is not a great perimeter defensive team.

With that if Johnson can lock down Amoore, it will be a huge LSU advantage.

Make VaTech play perimeter defense and then either Reese, Smith and Williams will have a good game. My money is on Williams.

Just my 2 cents.

Game will be won by continuing tight defense and making layups and free throws. 3’s have been iffy all season. LSU is more athletic and if Williams and angel control the paint they will win.

Johnson is not quick enough to keep up with Amoore. Morris is the only one on the court that could keep up with her. The problem with Morris is Amoore shoots anywhere on the court and a bigger guard would maybe disrupt her shot more. You limit Amoore and the big girl down low below their average in the tournament and LSU wins.

If LSU plays anything like it has in the last couple of games, they will get obliterated. Better protect the basketball, make free throws, stop stupid fouls, and figure out how to make a damn shot. It has been an amazing feat to reach the Final Four, but a much different brand of basketball has to be played to win another game.

I would give her a shot due to her size advantage. Johnson has been lights out defensively.

I’m not sure they are locking down the big girl.

They shot okay, definitely not lights out. I would be far more worried about Iowa's shooting, if it comes to that.

Same. I think that it's the sport that they play. Look at the girl for OSU that fouled out. Looked like a dude, and not a decent looking one. Everybody was drooling over the Cavinder twins, but if you put them next to the LSU gymnastics team, they're probably average.

Weird time for this. We won dude, it didn’t matter. You don’t get extra perks for making the final 4 as a higher seed

Amoore is the key. She can drain it from any spot past the center court line. I think Kitley can be handled by Reese or LaDazia. VT had a lot of problems handling the press of Lady Vols and even Ohio State to some extent. Our defense will cause them problems, we have to be able to finish around the basket and make free throws. VT has never sniffed the Final Four and their coach is inexperienced in big games, so our staff can calm the team and VT will feel the pressure. Not sure we can beat either Iowa or SC...but just winning a game in the Final Four for once will be huge for the program.

Va Tech only plays 6 players. Get them in foul trouble quick
