Why do we need him? We have Harris, Jennings, McMillan, and Etling. Why dont we have confidence in the guys we already have?

Because we should recruit AT LEAST a QB per year, and we blew it with Franks.
I see no negative to it if we can get Knight. It isn't like he's expected to be some savior of the program, but what does it hurt to have him? We need a QB this year anyway.

Thanks for the thread..[Not opposed to another QB coming aboard, but almost indifferent] Here is my opinion to those who keep screaming for a new QB. Not too sure it's about picking up talent, we get plenty. When has a QB EVER been able to pick-up and execute the LSU offense [WELL] without sitting out for a good long while. To those who keep thinking all we need is a talented QB, let me remind you we have had highly rated QB's...And a 5 yard pass still looks like we are trying to crack code. And a time-out still gets followed by a delay of game penalty. So keep blaming the players and excusing the coaches. Do you expect me to believe that 108 other teams have better QB's and Receivers? Boy, if LSU could just get the talent to finish with a better than 108 Passing Offense.

You recruit him so A&M does not get him. It is really that simple.

He's terrible. This would be a complete waste of a roster spot.

What QBs has Miles brought in that we're not a work in progress? Mettenberger apparently was the only I guy I recall who actually understood the position. He should of been on the field from day one. One of the reasons our passing game is not too good is because of the QBs not catching on to the system. If the primary receiver is not open, we are not smart enough to check down. Also they don't understand how to audible out of a called play by reading the defense. For some reason, we are recruiting athletes and trying to teach them how to play QB. I would take a Mettenberger type QB any day over our current situation.

But, do you think 108 other teams have a better QB, receivers and Linemen? I don't. My Point is the root of the problem is development and system. I think fixing other things are a band-aid solution...But hey, band-aid is better than No-Aid.

I'm fine with recruiting him, and I would. Just saying I doubt he will make an impact for a number of reasons.

I'm still confused why it took Mett til his third year to successfully run the offense. And why no other QBs since 2008 have been able to.

Yeah, it would be good to have him as a backup if he didn't start, but the guy is probably looking to start wherever he goes and I would be surprised if anyone came in and started in our offense in their first year (even though it's done at a number of other places). It would be nice to say we have one person on our roster that has beaten Bama though.

Bullfrickinngshit. They've got depth if they were happy. If he's a one snd done he's not coming here to ride the bench. Some people are so dense

I still don't understand it. Knight is terrible and is a one and done from a freaking spread offense. He's also had several injuries. It makes no sense other than they are desperate for depth and competition.

I think they know Jennings is planning or at least thinking transfer and need some experienced bodies.

You're completely talking out of your arse and sound like a fricking retard. It doesn't take a psychic to see Jennings is a transfer risk and LSU is likely left with one guy who has ever taken an SEC snap. This is a depth move pure and simple, and it likely doesn't even matter because this kid is going to aTm. Sit down and let the adults talk.

Thank you.

I agree. It's a pathetic attempt to get a useless Qb. He hasn't played in a system like LSU's and would have to be Cam Newton talented to make us any better. Etling serves more purpose as does McMillan. Jennings sounds like he's gone if any other Qb shows up.

Kelly wasn't good enough for Cam last year

I don't think that was the issue. He was a potential head case and locker room killer. It paid off for Freeze, but a lot of people thought he should have dropped him after his offseason arrest last year. Hindsight and all.

Dude he fricking sucks. Hence why he doesn't play at Oklahoma. He had one good game against Bama and every retard LSU fan thinks he's legit. Idiots.

Everybody sound stupid in here... If the guy wants to come to LSU and feels he can win the job then I'm all for it. QB competition is what LSU needs. Its not like we have such a dynamic scheme that takes a lot of time process. I'm just tired of seeing a Shite show QB performance week in, week out! This is an all or nothing season coming up... LF7, Dupre, Dural, Beckwith, White, & Adams will be departing.
