If we don't hit and run with first and second, we'd have had a 2-0 count and two runners on base. Instead we had to swing at a ball and got a rubber thrown out.

I don't think you understand how disruptive our lineup is when they get on base. Laird, Stevenson, Fraley. Everyone on this team except Ibarra and Moore can run.

And scivicque and chinea.

Also, laird and stevenson dont wreak havoc on the bases. Fraley and bregman are better base stealers

Good point Josh.

How was Stevenson disruptive by getting thrown out twice? How many stolen bases does Laird have? We have speed, but we are not great base runners. We are mostly over aggressive and run into outs.

Although Laird had a nice tag from first base tonight to reach second base.

That was a good call in that situation, imo. It was I think 2-1, with Stevenson trying to get 2 in scoring position. That catcher was on his game tonight. No one's giving that guy any credit.

LOL. We're beating teams soundly right now and you're complaining about base running. There were definitely metal errors. There always are. But this team is making up for that. The speed we have causes the other team to make mistakes. I thought next year was our year, but McMullen and Bregman are extremely tough because they're both doing a lot. And we have tremendous speed around them.

Sometimes that's a better way to do it. Remember Fresno St a few years ago? Or Moo St last year before losing in the championship series

We are a bad base running team. We killed a rally yesterday with the same mistake Laird played tonight.

Fortunately we are overcoming those mistakes by getting 12-14 hits.

Troof. I really thought we were based on the way we were playing. And after beating OU when they were the upstart. New year!

Exactly. We are flat out killing the ball right now. But the UH catcher is a big league caliber guy. He was on the money with every throw. Did no one else notice this?

That kid is money. You are not going to steal on him.

I'm watching OSU get waxed right now and UF already at home watching. I don't see how we're not the best team. But it's baseball. Things can happen. But this is a championship team. U of Hs pitcher was also impressive tonight.

Funny, I saw Stevenson get a steal on him because of a bad throw he made.

McMullen, Bregman, Fraley, Stevenson, Laird, Moore, Hale- is a tough arse lineup. Those guys can all hit.

we are hot at the right time and seeing games across the country there are no teams who are above and beyond the others. The hottest team may win it all this year.

Hale is the best contact hitter on the team. I really like the hit and run call there. If the pitcher puts it anywhere near the plate on a 1-0 count, we are fine and look like geniuses.

I love where LSU is in progression right now as a team. Are they the best? Who knows...but they really have been taking it an inning at a time all the way up to this point.

It's going to be interesting to see how they respond with the break between this weekend and next. I'll go ahead and say if they get to Omaha and win the first game, I love their chances to add another year to the intimidator.

But as I said, slow down and take it an inning at a time.
