Lot of good into at that site. Never realized how successful the program has been down through the years. I remember the days when I thought we would never run with the big boys--Geo. Tech, N.D., Neb., Okla., Army, Tenn., USC, etc. Now most of them suck.

From 2005-2012 (Les Miles LSU Program) LSU has the third highest winning percentage of any FBS program. The only two programs LSU trails are Boise St. and TCU who have not been BCS conference participants during that whole time period.

Unlike many, I don't have a problem with that. They were one of the best two teams last year however you look at it. At least they played by the rules!

Hijacks this thread but I disagree.

LSU and Bama were just pawns in the money game to get a playoff. The rematch cemented the point of view of the regular season is nothing but a warmup and window dressing to get into a playoff spot.

I fully expected a 8 to 16 team playoff in 10 years "for the kids."

Even more impressive is that we are #2 over the last 10 years and #3 over the last 15 years.

and in the top 10 over the last 75 yrs and 100 yrs. i guess those sabanites that insist LSU was shite before the arrival of the savior can't count very well. we had a rough stretch after chollie mac was fired and bo rein was killed, esp in the 90's when LSU went cheap and hired hallman. but, over the long haul, LSU is a top 10 program and recently, when the competition is the toughest, a top 5 program.

Check out over the last two decades....

Those rankings are stupid though. "Big 4 Bowl Points" should not even be comparable to "National Championship Points".

Championships from 1998-current should carry more weight than pre BCS championships as well.

yup.

ESPN declaring the final weekend meaningless and OSU still only got shut out of the title game by the closest 2/3 finish in the history of the BCS.

People who like "second best" dig their chubby wife, relate to Camry commercials, and boast about their 3% raise. It's sad when you could have been first and you had some blind obligation to leave JJ in...lol. Enjoy the heated seats.! Or better yet ask Fran Tarkington or Jim Kelley...say who?
