Where are all of those people this week? We all know negatigers such as myself have been happily shut up by the Bama beatdown, but what about all those guys saying expectations are too high?

I'm not as interested in calling them out, though, as I am in just saying how great it was to see LSU play like that again. THAT was meeting expectations.
And I'm not saying they have to win every game, but to go out there against a team like Bama (and don't kid yourself, Bama is good enough to win every game they play) and just lay it all on the line, open up the offense in the 2nd half, and in general look like what they are: a team of the best athletes you will find in college football.

If Miles can make that the norm, then I don't care if he stumbles his way through 30 years of press conferences.

In other words, will we play at a high level consistently or just on special occasions?

Apparently you'd rather play good and lose then win ugly?

That was a stupid post, but the expectations of many are still out of whack.

LSU is one of 12 schools with 700 wins and ranks 13th all time in winning percentage. That puts in the the top 15% of all schools.

I have been a total Miles/Crowton Negatiger for a while. Face it, the guys just win football games!! Time to put the negative vibes away forever.

That's the exact point I made the last time this idea came up.

Those aren't the choices. We can't win every game no matter how we play, but, given the kind of athletes that come to LSU, if we play well consistently then we won't lose very often. If we play ugly consistently, it stands to reason we'll lose more often.
And yeah, given the choice, I'd much rather beat Alaabama by scoring 24 and getting 300 yards of offense in a half than beating them 13-10 in an ugly game.

Whoa BUB!!! It was great to beat Bama and Queen Saban, however Bama is down this year and way over rated. I would be happy if we beat them by 17 or more. We still have a lot of football left to play. We do have a big X on our chest with the little giants coming to town. And Missoli would like to steal our season like a pc, lol! And the still have to make them lil hogs sing wee wee wee to call it successful! 12 more dominating quarters of kill or be killed football and then crownem!

I'm going to be polite... frick you.

We beat UGA at UGA last year... they're down.

We beat UF in the swamp, they're down.

Now we beat a Bama team that was the highest ranked of the once beatens and .. shocker... they're down.

Gimme a fricking break.

We are also nearing 11th all time in number of victories. (Mighty USC is 9th).

This is so true - why are teams great until we beat them and then they're all of a sudden down?????

First, to OBUDan, LSU's historical ranking is not relevant to the issue of whether we've had elite-level talent, resources, etc over the past decade.
I honestly don't see how it's relevant to anything. That's like Bama talking about championships from way back in the day. It's fine for them to reflect on that, but it doesn't say much about their program today.

That is flat-out untrue. Bama beat Penn State, Florida, and Tennessee by 3, 4, and 5 TDs respectively. They may be down from last year, but they are still at the very top of college football and good enough to beat anyone they play.

Penn State has a great tradition however it aint so happy in happy valley this year! Gators lost at home to Miss St, and who ever else doesn't really matter. They are not what they were the last couple of year no matter how you scream and shout.

You're an idiot, a troll, or both.

So now Bama is sub par just because we beat them
