If you had told me that, I sure as hell wouldn’t have predicted we would be playing for the National Championship

Hopefully it all comes together tomorrow

LSU has been reliant on home runs due to how poorly the bottom of the order is performing

Thankfully, tomorrow has a strong chance to be the weakest pitching LSU has seen since the CWS started so hopefully they see the ball really well

Offense as a whole has sucked. They've had timely hitting. Clutch I suppose, but inconsistent.

I suppose it seems that way when 6-9 are auto outs though.

I’m sure without Thomason’s 1 for 83 it would be a lot better.

Pearson got on base 3 of his 4 ABs today. Jobert also got on base 3 of 4 ABs today (including 1 HR).

If you take out today’s performance by Florida then our ba would be higher than most . The field was playing big as frick before today

Leaving record numbers of men on base isn’t consistent timely hitting.

I think it's fair to say we have a big enough sample size to guess LSU will score between 4 and 6 runs tomorrow.

So can the pitching hold Florida to 3-4 runs?

When the bottom of your lineup is probably batting .100 I guess it may appear that way

LSU has faced three great pitching staffs in this CWS.

Florida was hitting roughly the same until yesterday and all the teams in the CWS were not hitting their season averages...

Pitching and Defense got us to game 2 not offense. Everyone in baseball has seen our plate struggles with a few clutch Hr's. We have faced great pitching but we had 2 straight Fla starters at 80 pitches thru 4 innings each and total 3 runs. Not great..

It's better than 40 pitches and zero runs.
And the fact that we had them like that 2 straight times, suggests we will get on base today. Yes, it would be great to knock them in this time, but you can't do that without baserunners. You don't get a 3 run HR with the bases empty. You don't have big innings without guys on.

None of this matters today. If we win, we win it all. If we don't, we had a great season. People are pissing and moaning like we have been terrible, but even if we lose, we made it to game 3 of the Finals. And preemptively, remember the game is outs, not a clock. Score in the 4th doesn't matter, only the final.

Herein lies the problem. They aren’t even having good AB’s, other than today Pearson and Jobert reacquainted themselves with first base. I’m also curious about K’s, our slugger at SS has 14 out of his 30 AB’s all on his own. It’s one thing for one player to be in a slump (though Thompson’s has lasted a couple of months), but to even get this far with conceding nearly half your lineup will be out every time is miraculous.

Are we not scouting the bullpen?

It looks like we have a good approach to the starters. Get lots of runners on. A few hits. Unlucky at driving most of them in. They put in a reliever and we look lost.

Yeah I wouldn't have expected us to be hitting this poorly either.

Today's game will come down to execution across the board. At the plate we need to move runners and pick them up with RISP. A few long balls will help the cause and match UF.
On D, outs must be outs...period.
On the bump - Skenes, Hurd & Herring (add Cooper if he can go). I like our chances.
