In the music video for the song "ambition" by Wale, Rick Ross is rocking an LSU letterman jacket.

I got five chicks in New York
That means one in each borough
I’m in the pocket like Burrow
When I’m back home, though
They treat me like Robert De Niro

Stretching my memory , but character Jack played lots of pickup basketball games and watched lots too. Very casually mentions/jokes he shoots “like Howard Carter”.

I read through the thread and did not see it mentioned, but in the green mile Brutal Howell (Tom Hanks’ second in command) played tight end at LSU.

They don’t mention it in the movie, it was in the book.

Billy Hoyle (Woody in White Men Can't Jump) played ball at "some college in Louisiana". I always assumed it was LSU but I guess it doesn't exactly fit here.

This is going waaaay back. In the Beverly Hillbillies TV show from back in the 60’s, someone asked Jethro Bodine where he planned on going to college. He said he hadn’t made up his mind but it would be either USC, UCLA, or LSU. They asked him why he chose those three and he said because they were easy to spell.

That was a store in St Gabriel near the levee as I recall. There is a bar room scene from what used to be The Bayou that was outside the gates on that little road that runs between the road that runs between Highland and the other one that sloped down the hill. Can’t remember the name of that one. That bar burned down as I recall sometime in the 90’s???

The song “The Night Before” by Carrie Underwood specifically mentions LSU and Baton Rouge.

He would’ve been wasted at LSU. Dude would’ve been lined up under center every play. Miles would’ve benched him because he would’ve audibled out of a toss dive and gave him an attitude about it.

If you’ve ever seen the movie “Thunder Road,” it is rife with tongue in cheek LSU references.

I always thought it was a New Orleans school, like UNO or Tulane, since the Stucci brothers mention being able to show their faces in Tipitina's again.

But on the subject, Robert McCammon, author, mentions LSU in a few of his books. Specifically Gone South where the evil banker proudly wears his LSU ring to work.

The song "Drivin' All Night" by Jake Owen mentions LSU.

I believe the game shown on the TV during The Cocktail movie was from the 1987 Gator Bowl against South Carolina.

Carrie Underwood - The Night Before (Life Goes On)

Tomorrow she'll be rollin' down I-10
Baton Rouge, LSU
Eighteen years in her rear-view
He's got a Friday paycheck lined up, down the block

Brooks and Dunn - When She's Gone, She's Gone

Saw an old friend last night I hadn't seen in a couple of years
Stopped in Galatoire's had a couple of beers
Talked about the price of oysters, the coach at L.S.U.
Then like I knew it would

Travis Tritt - The Girls Gone Wild

Sally, Sue and Tam'ra, smilin' for the camera
Darla met a doctor from LSU
Ally, Ann and Amy, went a little crazy
Ridin' home sittin' on a new tattoo
The conversation turned to you
