You're right. WKU sucks. They're the exact same team they were when they scored 14 vs Vandy.

LSU beat a ranked team on the road in their first game of the year. I recall one year in which they beat a top 5 team in the first game en route to an undefeated regular season.

Thank god the voters didn't dismiss those wins because they viewed them as glorified scrimmages.

No one is calling it a scrimmage.

Do you have a mind?

Can you make a point relevant to the OP? Is holding WKU to 20 not good?

Not everyone is the same.. but general belief is teams make a huge stride from first game to the next..

It just makes sense.. getting some kinks out in real live play..

But of course not everyone.

Look at TCU.. their first game was really bad.. they won ugly..

but they have blown some people away on O now..

TCU scored 23 first game of the season..

They scored 70 next, and they haven't scored less than 45 since..

Do you have an iota of critical thinking skills?

Vandy held them to 14. That game counted, even if it doesn't fit your little narrative. Then they put up a bunch of points on teams like MTSU. Sorry I'm not giddy and giggly over the Ds performance tonight.

I hope he realizes that Vandy lost that game to WKU...

Option A: win by 28points but give up 420yards

Option B: lose the game but give up just 260yards

The issue is that WKU is replete on offense with two star athletes, while our secondary is loaded with future NFL starters. And yet, they were still able to torch us for over 300+ yards passing.

The only other team WKU has played that is in the same realm as LSU is Vanderbilt (and even that is a stretch), and Vandy was able to hold them to ~200 yards passing and 14 points.

Most troubling, however, was witnessing more blown coverages. WKU had 2-3 plays with wide open receivers that resulted in touchdowns, and this type of broken coverage has become an undesired motif of the LSU defense - which still hasn't been corrected.

Why don't I put it this way in the OP:

No one has scored more on WKU than LSU the entire year... next closest was LaTech and Indiana @38

LSU held WKU to their second lowest total of the year behind Vandy who held them to 14 in week 1... a game WKU won.

But please... continue to bitch after this one.

All they do is pass. And we scored so often, they had the ball a ton. They QB is heading to the NFL and they have very good WRs. We have multiple injuries in the secondary.

Chill. The. frick. Out.

Solid win considering we have a bye week and Bama coming up! Not the first half any of us were hoping for, but definitely took care of business in the 2nd half.

Fact is, we played a very good team with a bye week, 2 starters out, AND Bama in the headlights and still won by 4 td's. Not pretty by no means, but a win is a win! Geaux Tigers!!!

Moron. WKU averaged 5.35 yards per attempt. When you dink and dunk all night, you're going to rack up catches and when you throw it 62 times, if you can't get 300 yards, you shouldn't be playing QB.

Go sit the f**k down somewhere

Bruh we won by 4 td's!! With a few starters out, in the rain, with a bye week, and Bama in the head lights! Not a perfect performance, but a solid win! We are 7-0 and the team to beat in the SEC!! Cheer up!

Their QB is an NFL QB. He will be in the league. Doesn't matter what rating a WR is out of high school when you have a QB like that. And the star ratings are a bunch of shite anyways. We have gotten guys that were rated really low out of high school and they turn into stars and play in the NFL. And we've also had highly ranked 5* and 4* players not do shite for us. Once you step foot on a college campus, it doesn't matter what your star rating was out of high school. Only thing that matters is if you can play.

You keep bringing up what Vandy held them too.... Vandy lost the fricking game. That's all that matters.

And the blown coverages are annoying... But fixable. It's not like we are outmanned or outgunned and just can't stop a WR. It's mental errors that are hurting us and you can fix that. Plus, we were without our top CB in Tre White who is an elite college CB. And Jalen Mills is just getting his game legs back and in a grove and is the QB of our D and makes the checks and all that. You take out Jefferson and Thomas / Paris and add in a healthy Tre White and Jalen Mills, and those mental errors will go away pretty quickly.

You are a stupid a-hole. They threw the ball 62 times. If you can't pick up 300 yards throwing the ball 60+ times, then you don't need to be playing QB. If you can't pick up 300 yards throwing the ball 50+ times, then you're not even a decent QB.

This shows me exactly how stupid some people are right here

Stupid again. Watch all the first games of the year and then see how many of the decent or better teams struggled. No, just look at the stats. A lot of them struggled with mediocre or bad competition.

Uh, I wouldn't use the Rant as a gauge of the wisdom of our fan base. The most knowledgeable LSU fans I know don't post on social media.
