Isn’t it ok to think that when a coach proves he isn’t going to succeed in the SEC that we should hire a better one for the good of the program? Is that not normally why LSU and other successful programs fire coaches and hire new ones?

It’s mainly fans who want to simply excuse the hiring of McMahon and then that want to believe LSU was somehow crippled in a historically devastating way by player departures in McMahon’s first two years.
Reality is that of any sport given the transfer rule changes recently, basketball should be the easiest to turn around in a year to be significantly competitive. Instead McMahon has turned out a horrific year and one that despite a few nice wins was mediocre at best.
He should be fired if they don’t make the tournament next year.
Brady took over a significant worse situation and had a team in the sweet 16 his 3rd year.
Wade took over a horrid situation and had them in the tourney and winning the SEC in year two despite not having the free transfer rules that McMahon enjoys.
This isn’t a Wade love thread. McMahon simply had no excuses despite his supporters giving him them left and right. He’s simply not a good coach and recruiting has been mediocre.

BS! Fans are similar in every successful program.
After Bear Bryant had dominated the SEC for several years, he had a couple of mediocre teams. Some fans were saying he had forgotten how to coach. Fans called his radio show, giving him pointers on plays to run.
Bryant righted the ship and won a couple more championships.
But Bryant never cheated. wink wink.

The idiots defend the shitty coach because they think it means they are loyal.
Then theyy dissect and criticize our good teams because they are fricking idiots who think theyre smart. Not knowing that they dont look loyal anymore.

I come here for the stupid posts. They never disappoint. To say Mcmahon should be fired after this year is just as stupid. You don't fire a coach who went from 2 SEC wins to 9 SEC wins. You truly show your stupidity. You can have rational comments about whether he is the right fit here but for now he IS our coach and he WILL be here next year so he gets a chance to improve on that. If he doesn't then there will be a reason to say he might need to go. But we know the real reason for all of this is there are still guys butt hurt about the firing of Wade. Period. That's all this is. And they have the emotional maturity of a 12 year old girl. You don't care about LSU basketball any more than I do. I have been going to games since 1977. I went when they won and I went when they lost because I am an LSU fan. But my life doesn't depend on wins and losses by LSU teams. I will give him a reasonable time to right the ship or go. But this constant " you have to turn it around in 1 or 2 years or you suck" mantra is ridiculous. Not every coach is the same. pearl took 5 years to get Auburn where it is. I know there was no portal but he was one of the best known brand name coaches in the country so he should have been able to get recruits there quickly but he didn't. We will see if Mcmahon can but if he doesn't then we will be back in the coaching search. Till then if you can't handle it seek therapy or get a case of midol. But please stop bitching and whining like a bunch of middle school girls.
