exit the first round of the playoffs as win it all.

If we lose any game skenes pitches during the playoffs our chances diminish greatly, based on what i'm seeing. Ty Floyd can pitch well but it doesn't seem he can go longer than 3 quality innings. some of the closers can do allright but pitching is not good. If our great hitting team is not getting clutch hits we're toast. i was watching the 2d game of the auburn series and we were outhitting them really badly, but couldn't get runs across the plate. it was late and the handwriting was on the wall so i went to bed. chances are when you've stranded 13 or more runners thru 5 innings you're not going to win the game.

the ole injury bug has bitten, and you can't do much about that. we'll keep rooting for them.

one other observation - they looked kind of flat. maybe they're fatigued having to play more when they know they will be a top seed in the playoffs. IDK.

There is a better chance that we win it all than get eliminated in the regionals.

Stop the insanity.

I will say that if we fall into the losers bracket at any point in the post season our chances aren’t very good.

I honestly think the pitching staff should see sports psychologists....it has worked in the past.

At what point? In the regional? Where we would be facing a 3/4 seeds #3 pitcher? Or in a regional final where we would have to beat maybe a 2 seeds midweek arm? I still like our chances.

Super regionals don’t have a losers bracket.

I’d agree in Omaha. But shite, Omaha is a crapshoot anyway.

In the CWS, yes. In the regionals, nah. Our offense will torch the third pitcher of any regional 2,3 or 4 seed.

Biggest fear right now is someone pitching backwards ala Butch Thompson in the Super Regional. Still like our chances to take 1 of 2 games at home after Skenes shoves in g1

Relax TigerNation. The season isn't over yet.

Batter up!

Couple things.

It’s not like this lineup hasn’t proven it can hit 1 and 2 pitching in the SEC.

This team has consistently driven up pitch counts to starting pitchers and feasting on relievers in the middle inning.

We have to stop letting one weekend completely change our views of this team. Do they have flaws? Absolutely but they have an entire season minus one weekends worth of data saying they can win a lot of games despite those flaws.

We felt like that in Oregon regional too

Last year in Hattiesburg too no pitching but one run away from supers in BR

This year we basically have a national seed locked up so everything runs through Baton Rouge

I like our chances this year a lot better... pitching will come around hitting won’t have another weekend like this pst hopefully.

MY POINT:

I LIKE THE UMPIRES BETTER WHEN THEIR IN ALEX BOX...

While I agree, and it’s obvious, that pitching is our weakness, I’m not getting my LSU baseball analysis from someone that that turns games off in the 5th inning.

I agree with you on losing a game Skenes pitches in the regionals, supers, or CWS. We’d be in big big trouble.

Good thing LSU has already lost 2 games Skenes has pitched in so hopefully we’ve seen the last of that. They also won the next 2 vs Arkansas and beat South Carolina after losing with Skenes.

Any team that loses their 1st game of a regional is by definition facing elimination which equates to Big,Big Trouble.

These thinking out of the box MF'ers on this site There is a lot of time to get the pitching right before the regional more or less Omaha.

I like what I'm seeing from Hurd and Coleman. Unless LSU is up 8-10 runs I don't want to see Little on the weekend until he figures it out.

Sure if things break really badly. Ask the Bruins.

Man, the number of people who feel compelled to post comments about the flaws of the LSU baseball team is large.

How are any of these comments helpful?
