#1 seed Oklahoma has to go to Seattle. I'm fine with this.

I posted the following in the earlier thread, but nobody replied. Hopefully some of the gymnastics experts will show up in this thread and bring knowledge...

Actually I can use a little info here...

I do know that there are 6 regionals with 6 teams each. I know that the top 2 teams from each regional advance. I know the championship meet has 12 teams and is divided into two groups of 6 and that the top 3 from each group of 6 advances to the Super 6.

My question is this....after regionals, how are the teams seeded for the 12 team national meet? Are they seeded based on their regional score only, or their season RQS, or some combo of the two?

I'm far from an expert, just going off of what I remember from previous years, so someone can correct me if I'm wrong. But I don't think there's any re-seeding for the semifinals: The teams on the left side of the bracket compete in one semifinal, and the teams on the right side are in the other one.

2017 bracket

I believe the rotation for each team is determined by how they finished in the regional. For instance, the team that starts on beam in one semifinal may be whoever finishes second out of the Seattle regional.

I assume Florida is at home. If they get the same judges they always have at home meets they will break regional score records. The "10"s will be reigning.

Those all look like shitty teams so they could have met on the moon and LSU would finish in the top 2.

Oklahoma has to travel, LSU has to travel, Florida gets to stay home...sounds about right.

I think the regional host sites are rotated every year, LSU should be hosting site soon I think. It wasn't long ago that we were a host site. Not a big deal its all gonna come down to super six really. This year it seems like its LSU OU and Florida then a big drop off. Utah has had some high scores but they are ridiculously over scored, much like UCLA. UCLA and Alabama are good teams, they are just ridiculously inconsistent. The questions every meet for them is which event will the melt down on. UCLA has had some major issues with floor and bars. Alabama has been extremely inconsistent with beam, vault and floor.

That was determined before the season ever started....it's not like baseball and softball

More like March madness

Which was right before gymnastics really took off here in BR. The regionals that LSU hosted were not as well attended as the regular season meet because everyone actually had to pay for tickets.

I think if we hosted one now, we could draw pretty close to a sellout.

It was also on the exact same day as the spring game following the national championship lost to Alabama, as well as a baseball Series at home that weekend
