Which was right before gymnastics really took off here in BR. The regionals that LSU hosted were not as well attended as the regular season meet because everyone actually had to pay for tickets.

I think if we hosted one now, we could draw pretty close to a sellout.

It was in 2014.

That one drew 5915...not bad. I had forgotten about that one. They had regionals in the old days that didn't draw well at all.

I am certain with a great group of teams in the regional as well, it would have been big.

This team would easily put 10,000 into the regional I think. The recognition and the support for this group seems much bigger than other years. We have actually gained a lot more traction nationally. A lot more people love following this team than you think. Gnat, Hambrick, Finnegan, and Ruby are all favorites across the country.

Well attendance in Lincoln should be interesting...there's just no easy way to get there...trust me I've looked at a lot of options. Iowa state isn't vey far away so they may attend...flying into Lincoln just is not very easy

The one time I have been to Lincoln...about 7 years ago..I went from BR to Dallas to Omaha and drove to Lincoln, which is about 50 miles away...and there was about a foot of snow on the ground. I drove past the new CWS stadium and it was completely covered in snow.

So yeah Lincoln is a pain to get to, snow or not.

Assuming the top teams advance from Regionals, LSU will be in the evening session at Nationals for prelims. That is great for our girls chances at individual success as sometimes the scores go up in the night session. It will be hard to win a title with Nichols going 10 on every event earlier in the day, though.

The problem for the SEC is that LSU, Florida, Georgia and Alabama will all be in the same prelim so only 3 can go through. Florida and Bama are always worthy so LSU can not afford a bad day in prelims.

If LSU wins their prelim session they will begin on beam and end the meet on bars. Not my favorite draw but nailing beam right away could really set the girls up to go out and win the title, hopefully they don't start out nervous. The best draw goes to whomever is 2nd in the first session, they start on vault and end on floor. The good news is that it will probably be UCLA or Utah and hopefully they won't be contending in that final rotation.
