The lists starts with Michael Brooks period. There have been other great linebackers but no one dominated a game like Brooks. The line forms behind him.

A few years back I ended up in Vegas sitting at a blackjack table next to John Elway. We got to talking about all the LSU alums he had played with. When I asked him about Brooks, he said "Man, I'm not getting racial or anything, but that guy was an ANIMAL. One time he flipped his car in the snow, and by the time the authorities got there, he had flipped it back over by himself".
He also had very favorable things to say about Gene Lang.
