You made an erroneous comment when you said OM had never won an SEC championship and now you're attempting to walk it back. Man up, you made a mistake.

Nice try but fail. I clearly explained my post and point. None of this is my opinion. I'm 100% right and way vindicated. If you want an easy debate, there is plenty of low hanging fruit on this board, I'm just not one of them pops!

Bring all the alters and trolls out of he woodwork, it won't matter. All anybody needs to do is read all my posts and point to the scoreboard.

Wish I could achieve such a percentage but admittedly I can be wrong. Look at my posts on the political board. I though Romney would be our next president. I was wrong and I own it.

You were wrong about Ole Miss and you tried to cover it with additional qualifiers.

Is it your position Ole Miss does not have a single SEC football championship trophy in their collection?

So SEC football really didn't exist before 1992?

The SECCG was established in 1992. The SEC has been awarding champions since 1933. It all counts.

So, will you begin the petition to have LSU return the six trophies earned prior to 92?

the cranes tell me that LSU has an aggressive plan and is prepared to do what ever the frick it takes to build the platform for a sustainable top tier program. the gameday experience at LSU is second to none and the national recruiting footprint forged by Miles and staff will help to mitigate the impact of any appreciable down years in Louisiana talent. It is MHO that LSU is here to stay and the very best is yet to come.

get better, get ready...get even.

Hey, Arnsparger never won 10 games. 8-3-1, 9-2-1, 9-3. He also went 0-3 in bowls.

Saban also lost at least 3 games every season but one.

In the meantime, we rag on the one guy who consistently wins 10 or more games a year.
This is ridiculous. I swear some people have no perspective.

Arnsparger: 11 games, won 8. 11 games won 9. 11 games won 9. If you want to postseason it, then yes he was 0-3. But Les has now lost 3 of 4 in postseason.

Saban: Took over a program that had won 7 games, yes 7 fricking games in the last 2 seasons. 7-15 record. Yep, you read that right, 7 wins in 22 games. First season, 8-4. 2nd season, SEC, Sugar Bowl win. 3rd season, 6-1, Mauck injured whooping UF @ the Swamp (when had LSU done that prior?), 4th season SEC and BCSNC. OMG, he lost 3 games every year, the pos coach.

I absolutely hate revisionists and throwing out stats that are meaningless. Even Saban from 2000-2004 only had 2 12 game schedules, which since 2005 is the norm.

I'm not taking away from Miles, but you can't say Ansparger never won 10 games or Saban lost 3 games a year with a straight face unless you are breakfast retarded.
Do you remember the Arnsparger era? Yes, it was different- we were good but not elite, and we had no expectations of being that. The dream then was a Top 10 ranking, not a serious shot at a national title. That was for the Oklahoma's, Nebraska's, Miami, and Florida St.
We "made it" by getting to a major bowl against a top opponent... yay we hung in there good against Nebraska. But we NEVER won. They played less games... yep, and lost more- Les has 4 seasons with 2 or less losses on his resume. In addition, go look again at Arny's record and you see 2 ties, something else Les can't get. You put ties back in, and Les has (an admittedly odd looking) an undefeated season in 2007.

As for Saban- man, we were 8-3 in 2001. Sure, it was fun to watch Rohan throw it to Reed, but don't forget what an upset it was for us to beat Tennessee that year in Atlanta, but at least we finally got there. And the Sugar- it was a home game for LSU against a rattled Illinois team. I remember, I was there- we rocked the Dome and jumped all over them. Eventually they calmed down and matched us, but that was when we already had a big lead. And again, winning the Sugar and finishing at/near the top 10 felt unbelievably great, like a gift from Heaven.
So Saban won the BCS in 2003, and we... turned the corner??? Really? Am I the only guy who felt like we were amazingly lucky to not lose to Oregon St in 2004 (how many missed kicks did they have)? And losses to Auburn again, not winning the SEC West, and then blowing the Iowa game (which BTW was a fricking horrible game to begin with. Iowa was about dead-last in rushing, but they were mauling us). It felt like we were heading right back to 8-3 again.
edited: quote- LSU became the first defending BCS national champion to lose a non-BCS bowl the following year by losing this game

Years later, people revere these coaches like they created some Olympus here. Truth was, Saban showed us in 2003 that we could be the best, but it was Miles with 05/06/07 that made us expect to be. Now, we want Miles' balls nailed to a post if we don't look great in winning the games, and god help him if we lose to an opponent (even one that is winning national titles). Now we have a fanbase that is embarrassed and outraged when we play for the BCS title and lose; we have people who blow off lesser bowls as though playing in the Chick-Fil A/Peach isn't even worth our time.

We're drunk with our success right now. It used to not be that way. The fact that you can argue that we should be; that is a major argument in favor of the coach who put us in that spot.
