I'm 20, so I haven't seen a lot of football, but damn.

There is nothing like being a fan of LSU. You expect every year to be great, and while some aren't what you expected.. You get to watch the team grow. I couldn't imagine being a fan of the team who's winning every year and just bandwagoning. I am all LSU and this is going to be a special year.

8-5 seasons are bound to happen sometimes, but that's what makes being an LSU fan so great. Wouldn't be near as fun without the rant though

To LSU football!

There are good times. There will also be some bad times, so enjoy one of the best runs LSU has ever had. It's been 15 or so years of one helluva ride, and we're nowhere near done with it.

This is always my favorite time of year. As bad as my week may be, I have my Tigers to look forward to on Saturday. It's a great program headed by a coach who is a perfect example of how to be a good man. It sounds dumb but I'm sure many will agree that even the Rant and TD is a part of my life that is awesome and I wouldn't trade it.

Sums it up

Be glad you've grown up during the best era of LSU football

I'm only 35 and I can tell you we didn't always expect LSU to be great. But we supported the team anyway.

And even I'm fortunate enough to not see the worst years. But there were some years in the 90s where if we got to .500 or even better made it to the independence bowl, it was considered a success.

Once you get a bit older and turn 30 and other things in life star becoming more important, LSU losses and 8-5 seasons tend to hurt a bit less. Enjoy it as much as you can in the next 10 years kid.

its all cyclical, but maybe you'll bring us decades of success. i went from the "sleeping giant"/ on the cusp, inconsistent 80's, to the lowest of lows, "hope we keep it close" in the early 90's, to what couldve been dinardo era to the golden age of the new millennium. ill be the first to admit that the pinnacle has a way of jading the fanbase and creating spoiled cynics. its not life and deatyh but its a big part of my life. probably because lsu sports is my favorite hobby.

Depends on when you become a fan. I moved to LA in '81 and became a casual fan over the next several years. I really got the religion when I started at LSU in '88. I really don't know much before Archer (other than as history).

When trying to decide on a name, I decided on Good Times to represent my joy of following my Tigers. My first season was 1958 ( yeah I'm old - 69), and I was spoiled by the National Championship. Time taught me to appreciate every success of my Tigers. It also made disappointments hurt even more. But to achieve the consistent level of success that the Tigers have had has made me proud. If you don't take success for granted, each victory will be Good Times.

Really? You were 5, 6, 7, and 8 years old while he was there. I find it hard to believe that Curley Hallman seared such painstakingly terrible memories into your 1st grade brain.

I'm nearly 23 and have to agree LSU sports in general but especially football are so important to me I couldn't imagine what it would be like if I wasn't a life long fan. I still remember my pawpaw bringing me to my first game when I was 4 or 5 and watched Georgia absolutely destroy us.

27, first game was Bama in 2000. Everyone knows what that victory meant.

In short, I'm the reason for LSU's success.

Check your memory. We lost by one point to UGA in 98 and 99. Time playing Dawgs before that was 1991, and time after was awesome 17-10 win in 2003.

When I was 20, LSU went 2-9. Enjoy the 8-5's, it could be much worse.

I was at that game as well. I sat on the 4th row behind LSU. 2 LSU students I assume ran on the field in hard hats and moored the Alabama bemch/huddle. They ran and nearly landed in my lap when security arrested them. I will never forget that game watching the students tear down the goal Posts.one reason Ole Miss last year was one of the best days of my life getting to storm the field.
