I’ve known Ed since 1977. Love him, great guy, great position coach, great recruiter as an assistant when he has more freedom.
Camp settings are perfect for him and this past week proved this. However, as a HC his time hereafter will be limited, so being a closer like the little a-hole two states east is where the HC gets the big time kids. He struggled with this at the end of last cycle.
Not really a knock, nobody is as good as that guy, but calling Ed a great recruiter comes with this big qualifier.

Our last two coaches could flat out recruit.
But when they did it, any one could recruit LSU.
Now we need a fricking thread from Ree Everytime Ed does his fricking job?
I just find it odd he needs validation for holding a camp and patting players on the butt, as if this is Earth shattering tactics.

One of my favorites that I have seen is people knocking Badara Traore after one spring game. Some idiot on the recruiting board posted this gem:
"Badara Traore was the 2nd rated offensive tackle and 7th overall player in JUCO. And if the spring game is any indication he won't play a meaningful snap here." LINK to JUST to bitch about recruiting.
Totally disregards the other JUCO who was not even hardly mentioned when him and Badara committed and signed. Now he has been said to be one of the top 5 linemen and probable starter. But only Badara was Eaux's doing. Just picks the one "possible" negative and runs with it. So-called "LSU fans" are SO entertaining.

No doubt - everyone.
But some of the idiots here imply that they wouldn't have. They are griping that he is on the team and blaming Eaux like they would have known better and gotten someone much better.
All this after watching him in a spring game against a player who may be one of the best before leaving LSU.

So is all of that O’s fault? Let’s not forget he didn’t just beat OM, Arky and A&M twice, he beat the shite out them twice. Something Miles had a very tough time doing down the stretch every season.
