LSU Football broadcasting is going to be weird this year.

Hawthorne retiring, Kevin Ford out and now Alan Risher is moving on from the post-game show with Hannagriff. Just going to be weird hearing someone else calling a football game then having Kevin Ford adding a "ch" to every score that starts with a 2. And in case you didn't know, Alan Risher played QB for LSU in the early 80s.

Didn't realize Rish was moving on too, can't say I'll miss his constant "back in my day" schtick though.

No disrespect to an ex-Tiger but this is not a bad thing IMO (depending on replacement). I miss the Hannagriff, Gordy post game. That was the best tandem for me.

As bad as Hawthorne got toward the end regarding mistakes and mispronounced names and all,I sure am gonna miss him. Nothing like tuning in and hearing that voice. End of an era, and it will take a while to get used to the new guy. It saddens me to know my children will never get to experience his calls. Jack Hunt and all.

Why was Kevin Ford let go?

A much needed overhaul if you ask me. I loved Jim, but it was time; and, for me, I've always wondered how Kevin even got that gig in the first place.

No one has a clue, it was tweeted out from Doucet that Ford posted on FB about it.

Seems like they want to make all the changes at once with Blair, etc...new generation I guess?

Todd McClure is supposed to be joining Hanagriff now.

all of LSU broadcasting needs a shot in the arm. Very stale imaging and overall feel is plain. I would think some things will get better with some of the changes

They wanted somebody who could say "L" instead of "A well".

Hawthorne's age got the best of him, but whatever you may think about him getting crotchety in his old age and forgetting names, his voice was still among the best.

It will be different, but with a new professional approach. Change is good. Same thing was said when Hawthorne took over for John Ferguson.

I am looking forward to finding out about Hanagriff's new post-game sidekick. I didn't particularly like Risher in that role.

Everybody, but the ultra SP's did.

KF was the worst of the worst. Couldn't stomach either the pre-game or post-game with him. Couldn't listen to it.

Get somebody in there that can properly annunciate the English language on the radio. Ford was not even remotely competent in that regards. Was an on-air embarrassment to the University. Good riddance.

BTW, Bill Franques would be a good replacement. Very good radio voice..............
