2004 was Nick Saban's final year

2015 was Les Miles' final (full) year.

Record- 9-3 (2004 & 2015)

2004

2015

NOTE: 2015 had an extra game scheduled against McNeese that got cancelled. Safe to say LSU would have won the game and been 10-3.

Had Tigerdroppings been around in 2004, I am pretty sure some of you dopes would have been calling for Saban to be fired like they said about Miles.

I am sure we would have heard, "Saban can't develop a QB."

I have never seen a worse fan base. Coach O loses ONE game and ya'll want him fired. Who would want to come here when LSU fired a Coach that averaged 10 wins a year over 10 years.

You got Coach O for at least 2 years...Deal with it! Some of ya'll wanted LES gone...this is what you get.

PS- How is Tom Herman doing at Texas?

We wanted les gone but also wanted a real HC to take his place not a position coach.

Like it or not, Coach O is a former head coach and former 2 time Interim Head coach.

For the record I like Coach O and glad LSU hired him. It's one game. Good Lord, if Bama fans were like LSU fans Saban would have been fired after losing to Louisiana-Monroe.

I take it back...if Bama fans were like LSU fans...they would want Saban fired after losing to Clemson in the National Championship game.

1) Fans don't fire the coach, tard

2) Wait until Alabama stops winning titles, and see how wrong you are about them

I never tire of these Saban - Orgeron comparisons.

Saban lost to ulm his first year at Alabama. Orgeron lost to Mississippi State his first year at lsu. Therefore, Orgeron = Saban.

Saban was 9-3 his last year at lsu. Miles was 9-3 his last year at lsu. Therefore, Miles = Saban.

Miles lost to Alabama in NC. Saban lost to Clemson in NC. Therefore, Miles = Saban.

I mean, how can you argue with this logic?

Btw, tigerdroppings was around in 2004.

Saban lost to MISS. STATE his first year at Bama (Miles beat Miss. St. 45-0 the same year).

Therefore, Miles > Saban = Orgeron

stop comparing saban's first year to orgeron's first year, saban had to turn a trash team around and did it with his first recruiting class (as in recruiting under him for the whole year and not part of the year)

Orgeron inherited a team stacked with talent, consensus 4*+ recruits in most positions
Now what needs to happen is the team needs to develop under Canada's offensive schemes, try learning a whole new play book and offensive scheme in half a year

Y'all. FFS.

And CEO is in way over his head. He shouldn't have been hired period. Especially with such a bullshite buyout clause when no one else wanted his arse.

his only hc experience was a disaster, worst in Ole Miss history. The next coach after started winning more immediately after he was fired.

There is a major difference between bein an interim coach and running a program. Interim stints are horrible ways to evaluate. The teams with pulses that O has faced as an interim, he lost.

Listen I can handle a loss but how it happened and the way it did is completely unacceptable and inexcusable. We were embarrased by MSU not even close. We were completely unprepared, undisciplined in every area. That falls on the coaches. The reason people are melting is because this is EXACTLY how his Ole Miss teams were.

Bama when Saban came in was a complete dump, and at the time Saban had already proven he is a good coach. O has not and was handed the keys to a talented LSU football team. The last three recruiting classes were top 10 ones. Yes we are thin in depth in some areas but its not a dump like some of yall make it out to be. The excuses need to stop. MSU is not 30 points better than us.

This is more than just one time. It was Florida last year. Now MSU with likely more of these moments to come. If he can't win in a depleted SEC conference this year, it will never happen

Nope. In 2004 you saw the byproducts of good football. Tons of talent everywhere, quality schemes that put players in a position for success, player development on a massive scale, excellent roster management, and they were in most of the games.

LSU fans are very smart when it comes to football. Saban proved to be a quality coach and not to often did he get questioned. Not because of a fascination with him but because there were so many positive signs and proof of that. Things that we see today like inept QB development, horrible scheme, poor roster management at DL and OL would have never happened under Saban (at least not for 10 years).

We didn't hear "Saban can't develop a QB" because he went from Booty to Rohan to Mauck, to Randall to Jamarcus. Every one of those players played in the NFL.

It wasn't just the coach. The AD, president, and boosters were on the same page. Pulling the same direction. And it showed on the field.

Jody, it was a historic loss due to an alarmingly awful showing from the team. My biggest issue was a complete lack of fire from them with a few exceptions (i.e. Devin White, Darrell Williams, etc.)

What needs to stop is this baffoonery of accepting a horrible performance from the highest paid state employee.
