This. With the tighter jerseys and shorter sleeves of today, stripes on or around the sleeves just don't work well anymore, at least for some teams. Good examples in the NFL are the 49ers and Steelers. They try to retain the sleeve stripes they've always had, but Nike didn't adjust them for the shorter sleeve, thus the striping gets cut off at the bottom. Looks like crap.
As for this new LSU Nike jersey, I'm curious to see what the striping modification will look like in shoulder pads.

I like them except where the shoulder stripe touched the stripe around the arm.
