Advocate article

quote:

In fact, LSU plans to hold a season-opening game in the New Orleans Superdome in the next “4-6 years,” Ausberry told The Advocate earlier this month. Nothing is finalized, he said, but discussions are on-going.

“We’d like to play a Power 5 in New Orleans, the right opponent,” said Ausberry, who works with athletic director Joe Alleva in creating LSU’s football schedules. “We target four cities: New Orleans, Atlanta, Dallas and Houston.”

The school believes those four cities make up its “footprint,” he said, for athletic and university recruiting.

Be kinda nice if they'd target Baton Rouge.

Southern Cal...give us the 2003 matchup in the Dome that should have happened...

I understand why they play these games in these locations, and i'd rather every game be played either at Tiger Stadium, or the opposing teams stadium.
Lambeau field is awesome, but Camp Randall would have been better.

Playing someone like TCU, UNC, or BYU, doesn't bother me that much b/c i don't care about their stadium. Camp Randall is a destination stadium and gameday atmosphere in college football.
Bama playing PSU and FSU as home and homes is how i want to watch college football, not them playing them at a neutral site.

I'm not saying it doesn't in some ways, but my point is, uh, y'know, Tiger Stadium is there and it would be nice to have some good OOC opponents in Tiger Stadium?

I don't know. I'd much rather sit in this scenery to watch a game vs. a parking lot in Houston

Maybe if we'd get some quality non-conference games, fans wouldn't be leaving at halftime.

Houston has hosted a better slate of LSU non-conference games over the past 7-8 years than Tiger Stadium.

I agree that our fans deserve better home games.
With the trend though of these neutral site games, I would prefer one to be in Nola instead of Dallas, Houston, Atlanta

So you are saying you never want LSU to ever play home games in Tiger stadium?

What an idiot.
