LSU fans were wrong about Valentine, they could be wrong about the next coach

LSU fans' judgement was way off with Valentine, not hard to believe they could also be just as wrong judging coaches up for hire. Those judging coach O poorly and praising others could be way off the mark entirely, Herman may not be up to the job, Jimbo neither, their teams haven't kept up with the kind of defense LSU fans are accustom to. LSU's coaching staff and players love O, that includes Aranda.

Still hoping Orgeron wins out and is retained by LSU, this would create the least turmoil for LSU's players, coaches, and recruits, in fact it could be incredibly rewarding for LSU in every sense of the word.

I never overhyped Valentine, and I got sick of seeing threads about him every 3 days. He's hasn't performed well, and is out of shape.

Btw I'm in Herman camp...

it may not be the "same" fans; you just can't characterize all fans in one brush stroke.

having said that, some LSU fans are not knowledgeable about football at all. if our offense doesn't look like Baylor, it's a bad offense. the "scheme" is bad, we do not get "players in space", etc, etc. no matter we beat the team by 6 TD's.

If they can't judge players, they certainly can't be trusted to judge coaches.

Question for you. If O was never the HC at Ole miss would he be considered for the HC job at LSU?

I highly doubt it because his only other experience is dl coach.

So what this tells me is that those of you who believe O should be considered for the LSU job is because of his abysmal failure at Ole miss.

O may be a great head coach one day because he truly learned from his prior experience, but LSU is not a training ground.

Idiots here completely ignore the fact that if we hired someone like Herman we would lose all of our coaches and pretty much any recruiting traction we have. They think that he'll just come in day one and whip the team into shape and have them playing at championship quality. Those people are delusional and if they think any otherwise they should take a look at Tennessee.

If coach o wins out and they still make an outside hire I will hate the next coach with as much hate as people on here hated Miles.

You can't be seriously saying that nobody will want to work for herman and nobody will want to play for him. People like you can't be for real. Herman is the hottest name in coaching and kids will be lining up to play for him.

It's not just the LSU fans, it's every AD in the country. No other school wants Coach O as their head coach. None of them. By the way, no one wants him as their defensive coordinator either, including LSU who passed on him for Aranda. But, yeah, let's just make him head coach.
