He's prolly not lying. I saw this from a tailgate on the SE side of the stadium. They were aiming at Oregon fans and hit one of my buddies. It was rather embarrassing. Plus another drunk arse was in the middle of the street directing traffic with a whistle and going up to UO fans and blowing it in their face. I hope he finally picked the wrong guy to frick with

I am actually a lifelong LSU fan. I live off Siegen lane next to Ambrosia Bakery. Not a "troll". And nothing was made up. It happened in section 444 and 445.

yes. Saw fans from several schools get on here and say what a great time they had, free food, drinks, partying. Guess you ran into a couple idiots. See VTech threads when we played them here. They loved it.

Yeah it sucks but it's the same everywhere. Especially in the SEC, but winning 5 NCGs will do that,

Also. Not an old man. I am 32 years old and have 2 year old twins. Although I do feel old sometimes with the amount of sleep they have allowed me lately.

This!
It's about damn time Tiger Nation and it's fans got the swagger back, it's time to get Death Valley back to the most feared college stadium/atmosphere in all of football!

I was at the game and didn't see anything out of line at all. I thought fans from both sides were well mannered and got along well.

Indeed. I cannot recall a fanbase being this pussified. Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Arizona--all had a grand time. But according to Oregon, we're like the gang from A Clockwork Orange.

My theory is actually pretty close to your thought. I think winning has brought about a lot of front runner fans that are more about partying and not really about football.

Side note... My freshman year at LSU, one night they played "A Clockwork Orange" at the Union Theater. Some friends and I got completely obliterated on cheap beer and proceeded to shout out every line in the movie a few seconds before you heard it on screen. I can't believe it took them as long to throw us out of the theater as it did. Right, right, right!

So yeah, LSU fans may be assholes.

This seriously shocks anyone?

I'm giving my Fan of the Year Award to whatever fraternity was throwing bread crumbs at Duck fans. Assholish, original and relatively harmless. Frigging ingenious. Makes we wish I'd brought Puppy Chow to toss at Husky fans in Seattle.

Just based on the majority of the responses in this thread, I guess it just reinforces my original thoughts of what our fan base is like. Quality FU post at the end there.

First, no one should formulate their opinion of any fanbase based on responses on a message board.

Second, if the fact that some/many LSU fans are assholes bothers you then perhaps LSU isn't the school you want to be cheering for.

LSU stirs up a lot of passion. It runs to both extremes. I'm not a big fan of our fanbase booing the shite out of QBs. But I can accept it's just a result of the extreme passion our fans have. If you want a mild mannered fanbase, then LSU is not the school for you.

I would say some fans take it way too far. It happens at many schools. It's usually the highly intoxicated college brats so don't take it personal unless they physically punch/kick you or someone you are with.

I've been to a bunch of road SEC games and similar experiences happened in Gainesville, Lexington, Auburn, Starkville, Athens, the SEC championship against GA, etc. Even when we went to Seattle recently, my friend and I were going into the bathroom outside the gates before we went into the stadium and some teenage kids started throwing some nasty slimy cake that probably had been on the ground all day then began yelling obscenities at us to go back to the F'in swamps and Katrina should've wiped us inbreds off the map. Think it hurt their pride worse that we didn't give in to it.

We do have our fair share of douchebags, as does every other program (especially in the SEC). I usually go out of my way to make sure the fans from the visiting team are having a good time as long as they are not douchebags themselves. It is just a game after all.

Throwing beer bottles at other human beings has nothing to do with passion. It has to do with stupidity and ignorance. I guarantee you the 1st time some does that in return, pub fanbase won't think it is a passion play. Are you kidding me?!?

As far as whether this is the school that I should cheer for. Let me get this straight. Beer bottle throwing and calling people figs is a passion thing? If this isn't for me, maybe I should find a new school to cheer on? Wow. And wow.

You may be right. Maybe it is not just an LSU problem. Maybe it is a south problem. That doesn't make me feel much better about the situation.

With winning comes bandwagon fans. Bandwagoners are the worst fans because they are usually the ones doing this type of stuff. I get rowdy when I go to games but I don't insult fans just shite talking and tigerbaiting...all in good fun..
