Les Miles is an EMBARRESSMENT. There is no way I'm going to defend someone that is incompetent and unorganized as his entire program is.

If you want a new coach, if you think our current guy has gotten fat and happy, complacent, fine with that. Embarrassment? He's pulling wins out of his arse without a potent offense. Our valley was 8-5, and the record has been climbing back up since. Richt at Georgia with tons of arrests, and the team at 4-4 is an embarrassment. Hell, Meyer at Florida not acknowledging Tebow is gone and adjusting the offense to fit the (considerable) talent he has is an embarrassment. Miles speaks funny, and he has a couple quarterbacks that have glaring weaknesses, and wins a lot more games with them than anybody has a right to.
8, 9, and however many wins we end up with this year is not necessarily fantastic, but it's not extremely imcompetent.
Try to look at the most recent LSU teams through an objective point of view, like maybe as a Saints fan... we have Peterson, and .. who else? as NFL talent? Nevis is 280. He'll make a team, but likely the rest will be lucky to make a roster. Same goes for the rest of the teams; one or two guys, just like the rest of the good SEC teams. We aren't some superstar-laden club. Yet somehow, we still keep winning a bunch more than we should.

And that really ain't even the point. If you choose to agree with the talking heads on ESPN that Miles is an idiot with no right to any respect for his accomplishments past and present, you're embarrassing yourself by spitting on the guy who dared to speak up and say LSU is as good as it gets.
Saban never said it, not while USC was the talk of the town. Saban never said there was no place better to be at than LSU. Miles did.

I think Miles was right then. He may not be the best fit here anymore, but he's still here as of now, and so while he's our coach, he deserves a from me

T Boone Pickens had it right in '05 when Miles left OK State: "This is the best day in OSU history and will turn out to be one of the worst for LSU."

Yeah, he nailed it... OSU won the crystal in 2007!
In over hundred years plus of football history, Miles has brought in one of the THREE National titles we have and and one of the TWO in the BCS era.
For people bitching about offense, look at Florida!
OU was shite last year! Look at Texas this year!
OSU (bucknuts) can't win a big game!!
Look what Pete did to USC! Their ONLY BCS title was vacated and their program can't even be in a bowl game for the next two years.
Traditional powers like FSU, Miami, Notredame, Michigan can't win jack after they went through coaching changes!!
Winning a title much less being in the title talk is a boon! We are in the middle of it.
Watch what you wish for...that's all.

There will be those among us that read this rant , and say NO WAY, and there are those that will say "I LOVE LES"... I am neither! Your article hit on a point that needed to be said. I applaud you
I am like almost everyone.. I am tired of being embarrassed....however, that said... I am MORE embarrassed when I am watching a game, and the comentators seem to RELISH when our fans Boo! It is what they want!
Please try to remember that WE ARE LSU! Sure, act disappointed, screem at the TV, bullshite at the Bars, but, I am with you....don't dishonor our Team... and NO the team does not know if it is the coaches or the Team when they hear the Boos... It may be your free right to do so, But even the lowest life thugs have free rights! I choose to believe that when all is said and done, win or lose, we still have this awesome LSU Pride. You don't think that our opposition right now is enjoying to the hilt watching the FANS turn against the team???
I agree with almost everything you said because I understand what you are trying to say... Feel what you want, share among family, freinds, and other fans.... but when it comes to the OUTSIDERS, don't let them get have the benefit of watching our fan base fall apart!!

Scoob, I support your call to arms to support Les Miles. I watched Iowa's Coach Ferentz botch game clock management against Wisconsin last weekend that cost them the win and very little is made of it. A few weeks ago I watched the replay of Saban's last game against Iowa and listened to the announcers point out Saban's bad clock management in that game. Unfortunately there are a lot of immature posters and fans in every fan base. What you are hearing from are a few vocal fans who want perfection. Yes, the media has it in for Les. I called a local sports radio program last week to talk about LSU and asked why the media rips Miles so much and they cut the phone line and trashed him. Yet I'm watching Dooley make mistakes every week with substitutions, illegal procedures and now the quote about feeling like the Germans in WWI. Yes, it's getting some press but no where near what Miles would get. Heck, Dooley has a law degree and comes from Vince Dooley's genes so he gets a pass just like Mark Richt gets a huge pass from the entire media.

So our fans have a choice, show some character or just trash the coach every chance they get. I choose to support our great University, Coaches and Players no matter how the season ends up. All will be reviewed at seasons end. I'm a fan and my role is to enjoy and support college players giving it all each week. If there is one thing I love about Coach Miles it's his passion for playing the game and winning at all costs. He darn near pulled it off against Auburn. I suspect all his coaches and players know they had the perfect game plan but failed with execution on the field. I would much rather see all our fans carrying a rabbit foot to games then to hear so many taking the bait from the media and blasting our coaches and players.

And to clarify- I'm not saying don't be critical of the play-calling, or even question whether we need a new head coach. Sure as hell not saying give Miles a lifetime contract for what he's done.

What I AM saying is- keep in mind WHY Miles gets picked on about every single detail of his clothing, his speech, and anything else not related to football by the press. Why "lucky" and "fortunate" is applied instead of "gritty" or "tenacious" in close games. He opened his mouth and challenged ESPN and the rest of the media, and it was on our (LSU's) behalf.

Yeah that's it we are just TRASH TALKERS,

In fact we could not possibly love LSU. No way we bleed Purple and Gold, we are probably supportes of OTHER university who really want LES to be our coach. Is it working yet.

There is a very simple answer to this for Les. If he is tired of be rediculed and laughed at, then he needs to man up and do something about it. He should have fired Crowton and the rest of the offensive staff last year. He should have also admitted that Crowton and his boys had ruined the existing QBs and brought in a top JUCO QB last year.

If Les was a little less hard headed, it would go a long way towards winning people's confidence back. But - that won't happen, so while I appreciate what he's done for us, its time for him to go.

I don't care about the way he speaks or the comments he makes. I don't care about the cloths he wears or how he wears his hat. I'm embarrassed that he continues to make the same mistakes game after game after game and never makes any adjustments during a game. Players continue to look lost and NEVER get better and are not disciplined. He does not pay attention to detail and is never organized. How many times have we seen major mistakes following a time out? Clock management goes without saying.

We don't owe Miles a mother fricking thing you subserviant bitch. HE OWES US the respect we deserve. He owes us explanations for what is occuring. He owes us we DO NOT OWE HIM.

We pay him money for what he does and he repays us with COACHING failures EVERY frickING WEEK>

HE IS A EMPTY VACUUM AND IT IS PROVEN EACH WEEK THE GARY CROWTON IS ON THIS STAFF!

SO you go massage Miles nuts if you think you owe him something. THe real fans who see thru his rambling lies know he isn't owed shite unless LSU is at least able to play an important game without the fricking announcers laughing in the booth.

He gets paid quite handsomely for being LSU's coach. We don't owe him shite. He owes us a product that is equal too if not better than his pay.

We certainly do not OWE him anything, except for the enormous buyout we are stuck with. He OWE's the Tigers much more than he has given.

Les is the one who tied our hand behind our back. Because of that we are one dropped pass, one penalty and one fade pass away from being 4-4 against some teams that aren't very good.

I think the point Scoob is trying to make is the way we are being percieved right now as a Fan Base.
I live in Mississippi right near the Alabama line, so you can just imagine the taunting I take! But the truth is I DO bleed purple and gold, and my comeback when Les is ridiculed (allbeit true, and the truth does hurt) I say: "With our Bad Coach, we are 7 and 0, or now 7 and 1, in Alabama's case I say... you have the BEST Coach, according to your fan base, and your record is no better than ours...Lord help y'all when things change down in the Bayou. and as far as Ole Miss fans here, I tell them 7 and 1, and a bad coach, what have YOU got??
Yea... it stinks the high heavens watching our team make the same bad plays week after week, but the truth is, all the booing in the stands is NOT going to change anything for the better, however, if nature has it's way, it just may change it for the worse! When the fans are THAT down on the coaches in the STANDS (boo at the bars and at home if you think it will make you feel better) it will undoubtably have a negative impact on our Team, and they don't deserve anytbing less than what we are suppose to be known for... the most passionate fanbase in the USA!
