Thanks again to all of the LSU fans who gave such good advice on this forum and the SEC Rant forum.

Tailgating worked out great. I was in the Law Lot. So many friendly people, my son and I were completely adopted by Troy and Scott (who host near the Sigma Nu "young alum" tailgate. Their Backstrap with cream cheese and jalapeño wrapped in bacon was amazing as was their 4 TV set up. The Sigma Nu's were gracious enough to have me experience my first Ice Luge shot of Fireball!!!

A fan on here invited me to try his amazing Jambalaya, which we did after finding his Blue Truck with Dualies (sp?) Walking around we were invited to a couple of other tailgates to try 2 different Pastalaya's ... both very tasty...yet different, amazing food....

Of course I brought Indiana Micro Brew's to share with my gracious hosts... hope you enjoyed them.

It was a long day as we arrived at the parking lot at 9 am... but I must admit that the tailgating was everything it was hyped up to be.

It might have been more fun if Missouri had sent their Varsity team... wait ... what? that WAS the Varsity? oh never mind....

I have to say that I thought it would be louder, and I was shocked to see so many people leave early.... so "game experience" wasn't quite as hyped... (if the only time it "gets crazy" is for Bama, Florida, or Ole Miss... save your time trying to argue with me about it) and what was with the piped in music on third down when Mizzou was snapping the ball.... that's actually not allowed... and probably not necessary to pull such a 2nd tier stunt against us

Fans were friendly at the game... around the stadium... basically very nice fans...

Overall a great experience... i've always rooted for LSU and didn't experience anything that would change my mind

Thanks again!!!

We are not shocked. The softies have taken over. Didn't used to be like that. It's very embarrassing.

Glad you had a good time. Not sure of the legality but we recently, I think late last year, started playing the piped in music on third down. I know specifically Ole Miss and Auburn have been doing it for several seasons. If its illegal, it is not enforced.

If closer game, fans would have stayed louder and been louder. Stadium is best when LSU is underdog or threatened.
Fans leaving early has been an ongoing issue as evidenced by threads here.

Piped in music continues to grow, in spite of many preferring the band. Thread from today. LINK

We hate the piped in noise too, but it is what it is. It's actually not against the rules to have artificial noise until the point the QB gets under center. Your hurry up offense was partly to blame if the noise continued for a few extra seconds.

If it was legal... why wouldn't every team blast music as loud as they could during every play?

It's supposed to stop when the team gets "lined up".... can be challenging if a team is running a "hurry up" but that's why team's run a "hurry up" to gain advantage....

that's the way I saw it... the people doing the music were just "doing their thing" not realizing that Mizzou was actually in formation getting ready to snap that ball... somebody at LSU ... with integrity should have "reacted" to the way the offense was running

again.... not a huge deal in a 35 point blow out... which actually makes it a big deal.... b/c : 35 point blow out....

Trust me most fans want the piped in music to end.

As for how loud it was the score had a great bearing on that. Mizzou did liven it up a bit at the end of the half though.

Overall it hard to stay consistently loud anymore when there is a TV time out every 3 minutes killing momentum.

I hear you. OM pretty much blasts music between every play when the opposing team is on offense. Its frustrating for sure.

Yeah, it wasn't a loud game and fans leave early except for our biggest of games. Our fans tend to get really loud against our familiar rivals, but Mizzou is new to us. It was just a nice night and people were excited to see LSU under a different coach. I saw a pretty good number of Mizzou fans.

We have been playing the piped in music on 3rd down, but Mizzou's offense tries to go so damn fast that it just seemed like LSU was trying to keep the music going while they were calling the play. The music usually stops before the play, but Mizzou tried to go ridiculously fast and they did it for pretty much the whole game regardless of the result. I don't think the music person could keep up.

All those tv timeouts kill momentum and take the crowd out of the game. CBS is the absolute worst when it comes to this.

It's not loud anymore unless a top 10 team is there pretty much. Has to be a threat.

Thanks for the Beer that tasted like boiled Peanuts. It was good and different. Glad you had a good time and glad you liked the Jambalaya.....

The piped in music blows...... Our administration is killing our game day atmosphere with it.

If the game was closer, you'd be commenting on how loud the crowd was.

I hate the piped in music. They're actually taking the crowd out of the game with that crap. I'm used to yelling loud as I can, particularly on third and short situations. When the music is blaring, it's pointless to yell and by the time they stop the music, there's no time to get the fans going.

Yeah, I hate the piped in crap.

Glad you had a great time. I had a chance to talk to some of your fellow Mizzou fans. Had pleasant small talk and shite talking, all in good fun.

Tailgating is by far the best in the nation. I know I'm biased but all the games I've attended, mostly just around the South, never had anything come close to the spectacle that is Saturday on our campus.

As far as the stadium experience, it is a product of our current struggles of the program. As we have fallen farter and farther from the elite of college football, our noise level has also suffered. The big games are still fantastic but there is no arguing it is no longer what it once was. All that being said it is still a great experience.(fans who leave early suck. It's a nation wide problem and LSU has a bad case of it)

Glad you had a good experience hope you come back. I hope to make it to Columbia and see what y'all have got to offer.

We got traffic in Baton Rouge bro.

If we don't leave early we don't get home until after midnight. It's intolerable.

Sounds just as lame when explaining it to a visiting team fan who found the Tiger Stadium aura was over hyped as it does to LSU fans who see it as a sign of bandwagon fans.

Ok, i'll bite on the traffic issue.... it does suck pretty bad....

I thought that the traffic wouldn't be that bad b/c everyone left the game early. We stayed until Mizzou scored then leisurely walked back to the Law lot, hung at the tailgate watching some football.... and It still was bad when we decided to leave

you might have heard this before, but traffic around college football stadiums generally sucks after the game.... it's not a LSU specific problem
