Appreciate the homers & love my Tigers, but fraid this is a one & done tournament - the dreaded 8-9 - NCSt played the toughest non-conference schedule in the country & get an 8 seed for that reason - a tough matchup - M & M need to light it up - would have felt better with a 10 or even 11 seed

Won't be shocked to see this being the very first game on Thursday

Just now getting to comment on this. We're in a great spot, State can be a Jekyll and Hyde team. They have some nice wins (Duke, @UNC, @Louisville), but also some stinkers (Clemson, @Wake, @BC). Sound familiar? They just got destroyed by Duke in the ACC Tournament, so we'll see how that affects them.

One of this year's most shocking surprises, the Tigers have blossomed under Trent Johnson's tutelage. LSU is the most balanced team from the terribly vanilla SEC. Effective ball-cradlers and defenders, the regular SEC champs rank 21st in offensive turnover percentage and 31 in effective field-goal percentage nationally. Their length and athleticism poses a matchup problem for most, meaning a spot in the Sweet 16 is possible. Senior Marcus Thornton is a superior scorer averaging nearly 21 points per game. Stumbling down the stretch, they will need to rebound quickly, but this might be the only SEC team to emerge unscathed after the first weekend.
I think Yahoo's review of this year's LSU team is a little old. Taken from the match up on the pick em challenge.

Glad we made it and I thought we'd be a lower seed. We have a good chance at beating NC State these 8/9 games are toss ups, but the bad thing is that if we win we face Villanova.

The tournament is about guard play. NC State has better guards. Bigs are a wash.
NC State by 7-10.
NC State by 7-10.

#9 seed comes as somewhat of a surprise, but hats off and best of luck to them.
