"LSU did not win nov. 9th... Bama gave it away"

Georgia left points on the field. Bama missed 2 50+ yarders, so they do not count as a squandered opportunity. One field goal blocked, LSU's doing. One field goal was makeable, so there I'll give bama 3 points. At most, bama could have tied us.

And they still don't.

Unfortunately for Bama, that's a key component of the game of football.

On TideFans one guy came about as close as you can get by saying the game "proved nothing", and that it's fitting we're getting a rematch to "settle it."

seriously, I haven't heard one person say that LSU did not win. I've heard them say that we shouldn't have won, but not that we didn't win. they would be complete moron's to make such a statement.

Go look it up. He may not have come out and said it on record, but his players are on record saying "coach saban told us that ...."

You go find the link gump.

I've read the post game presser. I see nothing in it that verifies your claim. I assumed since you made the statement, that you could link the supporting quotes.

I've heard plenty of people say it. Of course they aren't stating we lost the game, they just don't want to attribute LSU's success to LSU. They only want to attribute LSU's victory to Bama's misfortune. So, yea I've heard lots of people say this. You just gotta know what they are trying to say

I don't recall Saban saying that exactly, but I do recall him heaping praise on his team right after the loss, whereas he usually laments what his team didn't do right after a loss.

I know this is subtle, but it struck me as a "we shouldn't have lost" attitude. And of course they should've - and did.

Uh, read the sentence right before the one you quoted.

LSU did not beat us

in such a close game the losing team can always claim they lost due to their own mistakes and not that the other team beat them. it happens every time in a game as close as that one.

Bama lost because they couldn't execute when they needed to and LSU did when they needed to, thus, LSU is a better TEAM as they execute when they have to.

Saying "LSU did not beat us" and then saying "We lost that game" is NOT saying that LSU didn't win, it's an attempt to make themselves feel better about their effort that came up short because they know in the end the score is all that matters.

Exactly. It's just as stupid as the rantards saying "we beat that arse nov. 5th....".

That's the same point all those other guys in the OP were making. Guess you agree with all them?

Of course nobody is saying "we got the win!". They're saying "LSU did not win. Bama lost". Hence the point of the thread.
