I'm not very good at this internet thing, so I was hoping some of the more savvy TD members would help me compile the following pertaining to last year's team?
# of players that left for the NFL and/or graduated?
# of transfers?
# that was kicked from team?
# of players that are no longer on team for other reason?
If this info is already out there, just point me in that direction and i'll delete this thread... Thanks!

Wait.... those would be facts that you are asking for. The Rant doesn't like facts.

Fact: ed orgeron was 3-22 at ole miss
Fact: our loss to Mississippi state was historically bad

Fact: Ole Miss was a long arse time ago.
Fact: Sometimes you learn from your mistakes.
Fact: O did a great job as IHC at USC when other didn't
Fact: O took over last year and did pretty well.
Fact: Our team has lost a ton of talent from last year.

Glad to hear that "pretty well" is good enough for a 12 mil buy out

Fact...you are a pathetic troll loser.

Name calling isn't going to change anything, man. The only thing that will change all this is winning. If he wins, no one can complain and all this will go away.

He lost to a 2 touchdown underdog at home.

This has never been an excuse under Les Miles. That's the nature of bringing in top 5 recruiting classes. You are going to lose talented players to the draft. Even still, we are more talented than Mississippi State no matter how you slice it. They beat us by THIRTY POINTS.

You're not the only one who sees this... anyone with a brain can see that the excuses are piling up by the day and expectations just keep getting pushed back

There's no statute of limitations on bad coaching.
He is that guy from OM until he proves otherwise. By the way, there's a bass drum in the football operations building.

Read this article from last week. It has all the information you are requesting: Why is LSU football so thin in spots, and how do Tigers restock?

This can never be posted enough. Perfect example on how he didn't learn a thing from ole miss. I told my ole miss friend this and nearly fell out his chair laughing

Maybe the first time I've ever agreed with you. That buyout is a total joke. Unbelievable.

Not to the point of lowering expectations to 8-4.

We're not so different after all

This is a cute and clever quip, but until I hear reports of him walking around the football offices banging the thing, then it's nothing like his tenure at Ole Miss.
Of course, it is kind of like an alcoholic driving around with a flask in the glove box. But hey, many people can quit addictions and being around temptations is no big deal at all.

You don't like my facts do you. Irrational people seldom do.

Les had no rope left because he had over a decade at LSU to get things right. He couldn't do that and to compare these two coaches and their times at LSU is absurd. It's just a rediculous argument.
Here's the facts LSU recruited in spots, if we needed LBrs we loaded up one year then the next didn't recruit any or one. Same with the DL and even QB. The only position we recruited regularly was RB, DB, and OL was kept pretty well in tact but like everyone has said he recruited lots of Guards then molded them into tackles. Consistent recruiting across the board is the problem and has been for a while. Not having decent QBs has also been a huge problem. Players leaving early for the draft has been an issue as well. Wanna know why LSU is always young, and it's actually true that we are always young in many spots and the combination of spotty recruiting, early departures, and misses have been the problem. Fix those issues and LSU will be a great team period.
Another problem I see and O has been trying to deal with it, is getting JUCO or transfer players to fill spots when we do miss, have early departures or transferes. Hell even mighty Bama has to routinely dip into the JUCOs to fill voids on misses, they miss as well. It happens, so a team staff must do their job in identifying those spots early and dealing with them quickly. He will get better and better at this with some time. Once he does this then LSU has a great staff to work their schemes they need to win games. Will our fans be patient enough for this to happen? Will he get this done quickly? I don't know but that is what will make the difference in him keeping this job or not IMO.
It would be really smart to figure out what it needed in quality depth ahead of time IMO and the recruiting staff stay with those numbers every year while dipping into JUCO or getting transfers to make up for any numbers missed or just boasting the numbers for our advantage. Identify the most important positions right now, with all the coaches, and then go out and get them collectively. Have a system and stick to that system as closely as you possibly can. Only take good evaluation risks not fill spots just because. Get what you want, if you can't get the best send our best evaluators out and go get the best available. I would spare no expense doing it either. Recruiting is what brings the results. We have the coaches to get the job done, now it's a matter of getting the plan together and out working everyone to get what is needed at LSU.
They might want to also change a few things in the offseason if what they did didn't work this year. Make the guys stay after hours to work on our weaknesses, or talk to the leaders to make the guys follow them. Their needs to be more structure but you can still have fun at the same time. The fun can't be the priority though. The actual fun will come with the results of a great season, and even then the work doesn't stop.
