It appears that you think Les Miles is a better coach than Nick Saban. Based on that you are retarded and your post means nothing. Thank you.

Cholly Mac was also successful during his tenure at LSU.

Curious you revere ole Cholly but have no love for Les consdering they both inherited solid programs from national championship winning coaches; they both won more games then anyone before them had in a long time (including the guy who they took over for); they both played in the same division as the greatest coach of their generation; they both, like everybody else, had trouble beating that guy. Y'all ran Mac off and waited a long damn time for a consistent winner.

What is your definition of successful? Wins, Championships, or what?

This is up for debate, but some combination of winning percentage, bowl victories, conference/national championships, and/or final ranking.

You asked for LSU coaches who've had better success than Les Miles.

Paul Dietzel finished 11-0 in 1958 with a NC. Miles hasn't done that.

If you want to go back even further, Edgar Wingard went 10-0 with the 1908 Tigers. LSU has been retroactively awarded a NC on that one, although the school doesn't officially recognize it.

I asked what coaches had better success. 42 posts later, I have nothing but a bunch of emotional posters like you who can't answer the question.

Cool, sup Bobby. Too bad you had zero relevance to what Nick Saban did at LSU.

Also during Charlie Mclendon's coaching career, let's not forget his list of QB's
Mike Hillman
Bert Jones
Paul Lyons
Mike Miley
Steve Ensminger
David Woodley

I would have to say, that's better than Miles' list of QB's.

Miles hasn't done that.

Neither has Saban.

And we were actually 13-0 in 2011 until the championship game against the #2 team..the '58 Tigers were 10-0 before playing #12 Clemson in the sugar bowl. It's not really a fair comparison.

The answer is nobody. No other LSU coach has had more success at LSU than Miles has. Happy now?

And Miles couldn't finish.

And Dietzel did finish.

It's absolutely fair.

Don't go moving the goalposts just because you don't like the answers you're getting.

Eh, I see your point, but it's up for debate. Dietzel didn't have nearly as many hurdles to jump that season.

Not his fault.

He had his successes within the constraints of the system in place at the time. So has Miles.

Everyone on this board who dislikes Miles hails Saban, as well as contributing Miles' successes to him. I figured you had the same mindset. I could be wrong.

Not me.

You asked a question. I answered it.

One could conceivably make the case that Saban's 13-1 season was more successful than Miles' 13-1 season based on the fact that it ended with a NC...but I won't.
