OK, now that the SEC season is over, how would you rate LSU overall? Considering we fired a head coach and an offensive coordinator, had a first year defensive coordinator and our best overall player was injured most of the year, I would have to say we did very well. Taking all that into consideration, how would you rank LSU against the rest of the SEC in terms of overall season?

My list
1. Alabama (not even close)
2. LSU (clearly playing great ball at end of season)
3. Florida (overall record good, offense stagnant)
4. Tennessee (inconsistent)
5. Auburn (second in west, despite injuries)
6. Georgia (going to be tough in the future)
7. Vandy (beat Tenn/Ole Miss last games of reg. season)
8. Miss State (won last two)
9. Kentucky (best Louisville last game of reg. season.)
10. Texas A&M (what a disaster)
11. S. Carolina (Muschamp won't be there long)
12. Arkansas (what's up with Hogs?)
13. Ole Miss (cheating big, still can't win)
14. Missouri

You can't rank LSU ahead of Florida. Whether you like it or not, they came into Tiger Stadium and punked Alleva and all of LSU.

Sure you can. Just like you can rank Penn State ahead of Pitt. Just like you can rank Clemson ahead of Pitt.

But it doesn't mean anything either way.

I understand we lost to Florida, but that's one game. I'm referring to the entire season.

Head to head matters. Why else play the games?

No excuse for that Florida loss none. The should be ranked ahead of LSU.

It's so easy to make these claims when there won't be another LSU football game for 9 months and it's sad that this board has resorted to this.

Sure head-to-head matters but the better team doesn't always come out with the W

Brahski, if you think this is sad, just wait until the postseason really sets in.

I think some could make a case for LSU being the second best team in the country right now. I fell we are playing like a top 5 team IMHO

LSU should be #3 behind Bama and Florida. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and put them ahead of Auburn.

+1. However, I would not say ALA is "not even close" to being challenged. Our defense went toe-to-toe with them and if our offense had anything at all to offer we would have won the game. Auburn and Florida were games where we beat ourselves with turnovers. LSU was the 2nd best team in the SEC in 2016 and I don't think it was even close....

Alabama Offense Sucks and they are getting it done on Defense. Against Washington 17 Points and 7 on Pick 6. Hurts 7-14 for 57 Yards Passing and they are No.1???
