Is there anyone signed or waiting in the wings or targeted for recruitment or *anybody?*
This is the worst production (offensively and defensively) I can ever recall at the position.
I'll take Adrian Antonini's BA if we find someone who can nail people at 2nd and avoid a passed ball or two.
Man, maybe it is the talent level after all.

We're bringing in two guys listed as catchers.

Ross isn't playing terrible IMO, but we do have some guys coming in

Actually, one of my friends I sit with in class said PM gave him a call to come work out for next year. His names Chuck Camp and went to Brother Martin. In retrospect, IDK what that says about our program if PM is calling out for help. He did walk on, but quit due to personal reasons.

I'm anxious to see how Evan Powell does next year, I've been hearing about this kid from Sam Houston for years.

Yeah, Ross just seems worse than he really is because he tends to make obvious mental lapses too often. But on a routine, play-by-play basis, his defense is not as bad as most seem to think.
Offensively, he's better than some past catchers LSU has had, like Tim Lanier in '96 for instance.

Pretty hard to replace the consistency of Micah Gibbs. He was such a beast.

Apparently you don't watch pro ball with Salty from the Red Sox.

It was natural that fans would be upset with him after being spoiled by Gibbs

catching is by far the toughest position to play and extremly tough for high school players to adjust to the grueling aspect of catching at this level and be expected to produce in the batters box also. I think if they stay you will see great advancment on their offense and defense

The C from Dunham and Powell are coming in unless Powell goes pro
Still have Slaid and Ross coming back
Snickeris will probably move on
Ross needs to get in shape, get better defensively, but I think his bat will pay dividends next year after playing summer ball.

Well, that's not really too good then because I watched that kid play in high school and he's nowhere near an SEC caliber catcher. If PM is personally calling him we're fricked.
On a side note, that dude's dad was a notorious loud mouth around the NOLA high school baseball scene. I've heard some funny stories from an uncle of mine.

Do you even watch the games? How the frick can you say that?
He can't hit and he can't throw anyone out. Don't give me that shite that they stealing it on the pitcher either.

Ross' defensive statistics are better in every category than Gibbs' were his last year here.
He's going to be a MUCH better defensive catcher. It's just that Gibbs was a heart of the order type guy that could plug in anywhere from 3-6.
Ross isn't there yet with his stick.
